MWS, you are like a guy arguing that Bruce Lee would dominate the UFC at all weights. Women cannot compete with men in any physical sport, but in the single most physical sport, one can? You are being ridiculously naïve.
MWS is right that in Judo it's all about technique. But one thing i dont think he is taking into consideration is that you need to be in position. And to get in that position, you need to have more power than your opponent. I dont think Ronda can get a man in the position needed in order to do any damage.

All of this talk of people who think they can beat Rousey just shows how big of a celebrity she is becoming. I haven't heard people talking about how they could beat someone since Tyson's heyday. TFK
I maybe wrong, but I am not sure that Ronda isn't stronger than Bryan Carraway. Maybe he is stronger, but I am certainly not convinced that it would be a wide enough gap to negate her SIZEABLE skill difference. To be clear, I disagree with Rogan saying Rousey could beat 50% of the 135 lb men in the UFC. I am talking specifically about the very weak looking Carraway. I see him and Meisha standing next to each other, and I'm not so sure he's stronger than his own girl. It won't happen so I'll never be proven wrong, but I think Ronda would whip Carraway.
Exactly, no woman have ever been able to compete in a real sport (ie, not autor racing or golfing) with men. Even in a position that requires far less power and explosing, like goaltending in hockey, every woman who tried playing with men was way out of her league. But somehow, in MMA, one of the sports in wich strenght, speed and explosion is the most important , let alone the innate difference in bone density and ability to aborb punishment, a woman could alm:
Anderson Silva looks weak as hell, if I saw him in a bar I'd be nearly 100% sure that I could ragdolled him if we ever got in a fight. Doesn't mean I could
Here's a question for you guys.... What fighters do you think are better at any one discipline than Rousey is at Judo? TFK
There a few guys i think that are better at BJJ and wrestling than Rousey is at Judo. And of course, we are talking about Woman's judo.
Maybe Werdum at BJJ, Chris Weidman at wrestling, or a prime Anderson at Muay Thai. Maybe. Ronda Rousey has the highest level Judo skills I've seen from successful MMA fighters, men or women.
werdum on BJJ yes. But i dont think weidman or silva are as good at their craft as Ronda is at her. I would say Cormier on wrestling or Romero. Souza BJJ.
As far as it applies to MMA, Ronda has been more effective with her Judo than Cormier or Romero have been with their wrestling or Werdum or Jacare with their BJJ. I won't argue level of competition because it is impossible to debate, but Ronda's Judo has basically been unstoppable.
She also hasn't fought the same level that these guys have. And her judo hasn't been a main weapon in all her fights
Rousey's mother AnnMaria De Mars, a former judo world champion, sounded off on the topic after the UFC 184 post-fight press conference to a gathering of reporters. "That's a stupid idea," she said. "Seriously, that's a stupid idea. I'm as much a feminist as anyone but the fact is that biologically, there's a difference between men and women. Hello, duh. A woman who is 135 pounds and a man who is 135 pounds are not physically equal."
Yeah she probably trained against guys and knows what she's talking about. We know Ronda does it and you never hear her mouthing off, she could take a dude in her weight class, even some scrub outside the top 20 or something. She knows pretty well hwat would be going down. Would be the same as that time Venus and Serena Williams played some guy outside the top 100. Actually it's pretty amazing we have people here thinking that. Would have thought that was only possible on sherdog. Especially amazed about Mex, tbh.
You probably know that I've never been impressed with female fighters, especially boxers. At first I wasn't impressed with female MMA fighters either, but thought they were far more fun to watch. I've always disliked Ronda, but I just think she is exceptionally good. Ridiculously fast and efficient at grappling, she always knows exactly what she's doing. I think that skill/talent set could work even against a dude.
you think rousey could get colts safety laron landry in an arm bar? http://abcnewsradioonline.com/storage/hqdefault.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1425727502528
You obviously have zero experience participating in sports, yourself, correct? Don't lift weights? At most, I'd guess you've ran distance.
I always thought I could take a 135lbs boxing chick in a boxing match. I think Ronda would take me down and armbar me. That's as far a difference as I would think there is. I don't think she could do it against trained dudes in her weight class, though. And even in boxing there was this one women (Rijker) who was levels above other women, she woulda probably beaten me in a pure boxing match but lost to a kickboxer smaller than her. This is a comparable scenario, imo.
I almost certainly have more experience than you in combat sports. I've never lifted weights, they are for posers, but I have trained in various forms of fighting since about the age of 6 or 7. Though, the only one I place any significance on is boxing, I don't consider that traditional martial arts taught me to fight at all. Made my legs more supple at best.
Yes I feel a similar way, and I've seen that Rijker fight. The difference is, no matter how good a female boxer is, they are NEVER going to get the better of a man trading punches, it's obviously just not going to happen. Grappling is different. It's as much about technique as strength. And Ronda is different, like I said I think she's exceptionally talented/skilled.
Actually I haven't done any fighting in a long time, over 5 years. I know I'd slap the shit out of you though, put it that way :kidcool:
