I actually stayed in Acton Town three times (2010-4 nights, 2011-1 night, amd 2012-4 nights) and it actually got progressively worse each time. Acton Town is what I imagine how London looked at the end of the book, War Of The Worlds, before the Aliens died. There used to be a cool pub there called Mill Hill but it closed down. If the ones around their haven't closed down they will soon. Somalians don't go to pubs.

Yeah, you get used to that though. Isleworth, Hounslow etc are all pretty much directly under the flight path, after a week or so you don't notice the planes anymore. The only ones you did notice were Concordes, those fuckers were LOUD and used to make the house shake.

Acton is apparently undergoing gentrification at the moment (don't know if this is true as I never go there) and will be the Shoreditch of West London in five years or so

My Virginal-London experience of Acton was being sent there by the Job Centre. They wanted me to go and do a Construction Safety Course and get my Card for the building sites. When I got there there was this fucking Rasta-Smalian-Mario Balotelli guy who wouldn;t cooperate with anyone or do what he was asked or ANYTHING and they sent him home.

I was so depressed afterwards I decided to go walking and thats when I discovered that Ealing and Acton were connected ::

I had a mooch about Acton before that, nothing doing.

Apparently, Adam Faith was from Acton, but played this hard Landan geezer in all his movies.

 

Redback's used to be wayyyyyyy overcrowded. Got chucked out of there once for smoking in the jacks.

 

I hated Redbacks, I went there with mates when they wanted to go and I was outvoted. Glad that place shut down.
