For those of you who follow that kind of thing, how much more can a male Olympic weight lifter lift compared to female, in the same weight class?
you think so? Ive been training extensively in Capoeira the past few years and i am confident i could thrash you.
Ive trained in the exact art Ronda has trained in since i was 5. I still do it every day and compete monthly. While you are right, technique is important, you need strength in order to get in position to apple the technique. Both of you start off with hands on each other's gi. Pushing and pulling. No way is ronda going to push and pull a man around unless he is letting her demonstrate.
What's funny is Neil is clearly taking the piss, and I assumed you were too, by playing along :dunno:
It's about 65-75% of the men's numbers. Which is actually more than I thought. It also gives you a great perspective, because I sure as hell couldn't lift as much as the best female weight lifter in my weight class... But then again, I'm pretty sure An Wolfe would whup my ass, too... Also the fastest female runners are much faster than anybody on this forum... or shotputter or basically any track and field athletes...
Yeah but you maybe dont weight lift competitively. If you did, im sure you could beat them. Not the running tho. For some reason i see that as different. But anything have to do with weights and shit.
Thanks for that Royness, that is interesting, and it confirms my hunch that women are less behind than some people think. My own personal experience tallies with that too. I have never sparred a women, and tbh would not want to. I would feel too awkward hitting a woman. Grappling yeah, I find it fun, but I don't want to punch a woman in the face. However, I have done padwork with women, and wrestled a couple too. They are awful at punching, pathetic really. As I said before, not the same snap and explosion of energy that any decent male boxer has. Look no further than Holly Holm. But I have been surprised by their physical strength. A couple of them have been stronger than some men I've grappled with. Quite agile and supple too. So yeah, as before, Ronda's possible 25% defecit in physical strength would be MORE than made up for with her huge advantage in judo, agility, and grappling awareness. She'd batter the likes of Caraway.
She'd throw that bum around like a ragdoll :kidcool: But seriously, of course she could judo toss him to the floor, I'd be surprised if he had any strength advantage over Ronda at all.
here you can see that Ronda is no match for a middleweight in Gegard. <iframe width="480" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/o9xjs2fWJEs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah no kidding she has improved. But gegard was just fucking with her. He was probably giving 10% at best.
That's only true now because of my age...back in the day not true at all. When FloJo ran 10.49 there were a TON of nervous guys who hadn't that fast. We gave them TONS of shit.
Well duh, middleweight is the key word here. He is a full 50 pounds heavier than her. In boxing terms, he is 7 or 8 weight classes bigger :: Find her sparring someone who is 135, that is the only relevant weight.
Ronda is about 150 there, but still. My point is that technique doesn't mean much if you dont have the strength to get in position to apply it. And in reality, they wont show Ronda REALLY sparring a guy her weight, because they want to keep this bullshit going. They will show people running motions with Ronda to make her look good, but it's not real sparring.
Exactly. Why? Because there are ignorant morons out there who actually believe it. My favorite morons are the ones who are especially confident and would pick her over someone as proven as say....oh, Caraway, for example.
Caraway :atu: I still can't believe mikE pulled the "What are your credentialS Gladys?" on me. I'd batter the fucK out of you mikE.
