This fight is coming up. Does Pascal have any chance?

I'm rewatching Kovalev/Hopkins right now and based on that superb performance, I'd say no, Pascal does not have a chance. In fact, unlike Hopkins, I'm expecting Pascal will be knocked out.

Same. Pascal has too many moving parts. He wastes too much energy to go the distance with a guy like Kovalev.

I do think Pascal will get some shots in. We haven't seen much of that with Kovalev. Could be semi-interesting for a round or three.

Yeah. Pascal is herky- jerky and improvisational. He will get caught.

But yeah. On the other hand, he's quicker than Hopkins and hits harder. And his stinky style could frustrate Kovalev, although I think Kovalev is smart enough not to let it get the better of him.

We see it the same way. I guess I'm interesting in seeing what happens if Pascal lands a few big shots?

Not saying Pascal is a big banger or anything. I think extremely highly of Kovalev, but there's still questions.

I don't really have favourites anymore. I just root for a good fight.

Worth noting Pascal works with Marquez' strength guy Memo Heredia. Has been for a couple years. Pascal refused quality drug testing for this fight. Won't help his skills but could help his strength and endurance.

Pascal will lose but I expect it to be far more competitive than most here seems to think. Probably an UD of maybe a late Ko but it won'T be early or a total domination. I'm no Pascal fan, but he's really underrated and while I like Kovalev a lot, he has become a bit overrated.

I think Asscal will hold his own for the first couple of rounds........ then get mowed down.

    Kov in 7.

    Same here

Pascal is quick enough to catch Kovalev repeteadly, and he has pretty good power. It will be interesting to see how Kovalev reacted,as his chin haven't been tested yet. I don't think Pascal's consistent enough with his offense to win this, but I'd be very very suprised (and impressed) if Pascal is not at least comptetitive with Kovalev.

I too think it will be fairly even for five rounds or so. After that I do think Kovalev's power will start to tell

Kovalev before the halfway mark seems a safe bet... I don't think Pascal can take his power

I think Pascal is kind of underrated too. He's not exactly great, and is herky jerky and stuff, but has respectable speed and power, and is a pretty decent fighter.

Having said that, Kovvles is much better, and thumps the shit out of him. Pascal does pretty well in the first 3 or so, then Kovvles just hunts him down and lands one big meaty thump after another, stopping him in 6 or 7 rounds.

Pascal will be peddling pish pastel portraits on Paris pavements by pancake day. Kovalev KO 6.

Pascal is nothing if not awkward & I can't remember anyone really dominating him(?). Kovalev will prove allot if he can put it on him.

Pascal is heavy on that good gear. The Marquez gear.

AgREED on all counts. Pascal took a lot of leather from the fighting farmer and came back punching in his weird, jerky kind of way. I'd be surprised, and very impressed, if Kov walks right through him.

The flaw in this argument is that Kov hits 5x harder than Farmer Froch. He's also quicker than Froch, both of hand and foot, and he's a better technician than Froch.

    Kovalev within 5 I think.

Don't see Pascal being able to handle that power.

    agREED...

Pascal's Speed & Movement will Likely Give Off the Appearance of Winning/Being in Control, Early Doors...But Kovalev WILL Adjust...The ONLY Way Pascal DOESN'T Get KO'ed is if he Goes COMPLETELY Defensive, ie., Running & Holding, Whenever Kovalev Gets Close...

Kudos to Pascal for TAKING this Fight, but REED Sees NOfuckingWAY Dude Can Win It...

"Stink" Can Be Offset by ACTIVITY...Constant Pressure, High Workrate...

Kovalev All But ADMITTED he Could've Been More Active vs. Hopkins, but Having Never Fought 12 Rounds Previously, he Wanted to Conserve Energy...NOW, Kovalev has a True Sense of his Capacity to Fire Punches Deeeeeeeeeeep Into a Fight...

When a Guy Constantly Pressures You, Cuts the Ring Off Well, Has a High Punch Output & Hits HARD as Hell w/Either Hand, it's Virtually Impossible to "Stink" him Out...Pascal Will have to FIGHT his Way Out of this, or Perish...

REED Can't See this Going Past 6 Rounds, Honestly...

I pretty much agree with you, except that i'd be surprised if this end before the midway point. Pascal is too tough, strong, shifty and proud to get koed this early.
