he was there training for a fight so maybe. But again, it's really not point. My point is that she isnt strong, she just has good technique.
Nah, you just have no idea what you're talking about, as per usual. You called me out on my credentials, Stinger style, and it backfired. The other person in this thread that believes Ronda would take Caraway, Trplsec, why don't you ask him about his sporting credentials too? Obviously he has none. If he had played any sport competitively, there is NO WAY he would think Ronda could beat Caraway, because you know, that's really relevant to this opinion, having played sports competitively.
"But MMA is completely different, I think Ronda would do much better. Women MMA fighters are just better than their boxing counterparts, they are more suited to grappling etc." Your ignorance only complements your utter ignorance, tough guy. How many men have been beaten by a female wrestler, mma, judo, or jiu jitsu participant at the college or higher level? But Ronda is going to beat a top 20 guy?
How many have tried? And that's really beside the point. Your eyes must have skipped the part where I said "history has not been kind to female fighters against men". The whole point here is Ronda being exceptional, and the best female fighter ever, not just your average top female fighter.
The two people on the forum that think Ronda would beat Caraway Seed, me and Trplsec, used to play Rugby and American Football. It makes our opinion all the more peculiar. Because obviously, in the years playing those sports, we would seen MANY male to female MMA bouts, all of which featured women as good as Ronda :notallthere: :atu:
Just scrolled through this topic. It's been a fairly fascinating discussion. Personally I don't think Rousey could compete with a pro male her own size, she knows it and her Mom knows it. That's not to denigrate women's sports either. There's nothing wrong with competition among your particular level. I'd love to see if Rousey could handle Cyborg (PEDs or no PEDs, weight difference or no weight difference). I watch women's college basketball every once in awhile. The most dominant college team of the last 25 years is in my area. I have no illusions they could compete with even a high level high school mens team, but I enjoy watching them play against the other strong womens programs in the country, while at the same time it's kind of pointless watching them roll over 90% of the teams that aren't worth a shit, because the overall talent pool is still not very deep, and it doesn't have the parity of the mens game. My only personal anecdote with womens sports is playing racquetball. When I was first learning the game, the better female players in the gym I was going to would smoke me. They would kill me just by placing shots better. Within a year I was overpowering them pretty easily with just my serve. I never got above a Mid-level B player before my elbow gave out on me. When I played the A level guys, they would just toy with me for kicks because my finesse game still wasn't worth a shit, and if they could handle my serve, I really didn't have much of a put away shot after that.
I see a lot of 'tough' guys in this thread. Yet nobody tough enough to fly out to Houston. Buncha typists. TFK
Hahaha, now you sound like cdogg looking for approval and a friend. Don't edit your posts in this thread. I don't need to insult you further. You've done a perfect job yourself. Not sure what I posted that needed editing, but I'm assuming it was accurate.
Caraway is a very light striker and gets out muscled in almost every clinch he's in. He has solid BJJ but it's pure technique and he rarely muscles anything. He is perfect fodder for Ronda "Mankiller" Rousey. I have zero credentials to back this up but I know some guys that know what they're talking about. "At most, I'd guess you've ran distance." Why would anyone just speculate that based on Internet posting? Personally from his post alone, I think Anthony has only played darts or lawn bowling at most.
I speculated on that because anyone who has participated in physical sports should know better than to think females can compete with men in physical sports. Even in distance running men trounce women, but I can understand someone familiar with that discipline being wrong. Also, there are some ultra marathon females who are right near the top. See Amelia Boone, for example. But when it comes to fighting?!? Caraway, regardless of how he looks, is going to be way stronger than Rousey. He's a f'ing professional MMA fighter who is currently rated in the top 10. He has beaten proven fighters. If there was ANY chance Rousey could compete with him, it would happen. Right now, it's just the UFC fucking with people and some are taking the bait. I know of a girl who placed 2nd at the 103 lb division her senior year in Division 2 in high school. She went 44-5 her senior year. She has placed 3rd at worlds in am wrestling. Her name is Alyssa Lampe. So, she's basically Rousey. To think she could compete with college level men in wrestling is simply insane. Grappling is all about strength. Men are stronger. Rousey, her mom, everyone...everyone...knows this or should be able to figure it out. I doubt a female has ever won a wrestling match against a college wrestler. Yet, Rousey can beat a pro mma guy?!? It is f'ing preposterous.
In powerlifting, the women at the top are stronger than more than 99% of men out there. They take lots of steroids, though. I'm not sure if they count as women anymore. Even with steroids, they can't come close to competing with men in the same sport. The women's raw deadlift record is in the 500s, way stronger than most guys at most gyms. The men's world record is over 1000. I think that's like saying Ronda can beat most men in a street fight vs saying she can beat top 135 pound men in the UFC.
When I look around my office building / neighborhood, at least 90% of the men are scrawny or sloppy fat. I'd say at least 90% of them have never picked up a weight in a gym, trained in a martial art, or been in a real fight. Ronda would walk through guys like that in a real fight unless the guy gets in a lucky punch before the clinch.
maybe, but i never seen her in a fight. She just dominates bitches in wrestling judo? I would love to see her take a hard punch
Maybe Cyborg will get her shot. I have a feeling Ronda can take a big punch or two on the way to the clinch / throw. We just haven't seen it yet.
I meant a big shot from a man. Cyborg is the closest thing to a man we've seen in women's MMA. I don't think Meisha hits anywhere near as hard as Cyborg.
