Whatever Love Does is GRAVY for the Cavs, @ This Point...He Played Like Shit in the Spurs Game, but Kyrie & Bron were MORE than Enough to Get it Done... Overall, REED Thinks Love's Been Fine Though...He's Shown a Tendency to Play Poorly Against GOOD Teams, but he'll Be Under the Microscope Come Playoff Time...Love's RESPONSE to Playoff Intensity & Expectations Will Be Telling & Will Go a Looooooooooooong Way Towards Determining if Cleveland Offers a Deal in the Off-Season OR if Love will Even Entertain 1... But Still, 17 & 10 Ain't Bad, Considering Love's the 3rd Option Offensively & Plays w/Thompson, Mozgov & Bron, who ALL Average 7-8 Boards PER...REED Seriously Doubts Love's Been on a Team that REBOUNDED as Well...Dude DOES Settle for Waaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooooo Many 3's Though... Love was NEVER Going to Match his Minnesota #'s (25 & 13) in Cleveland... REED:mj:
Love shooting 43% from the field. That's pretty bad for a big man. Kyrie shooting 39 points higher from the PG position.
But that's just It, Love's NEVER Shot Over 47% in his Career, Which is STILL Low for a So-Called "Power Forward"...& that was 4-5 Years Ago... The Problem w/Love's % is he's Playing More like a "Stretch 4" than @ ANY Other Point of his Career...He's SETTLING for Faaaaaaaaaaaaar Tooooo Many 3's... REED:mj:
Yeah, I don't get how Westbrook has even been in the conversation. Is what he's doing phenomenal? Yes. Is it impressive? Yes. Has he been doing it at that level consistently all season? No. So how the fuck does 1 1/2 weeks of super impressive play put you in an MVP conversation? Westbrook has had a great season numbers wise, but the Thunder are barely hanging on to the 8th spot and it's still not a certainty they get it. There were a lot of games Westbrook played in that the Thunder should have won and they didn't, and I'm sorry but that shit just doesn't make him MVP worthy, losing winnable games like that.
True. WB is currently in the middle of an impressive run. But from start to finish, both Harden and Curry has been phenomenal. Lebron should be considered too the way he turned around the franchise. Too bad he played poorly during their adjustment period.
Which is why he shouldn't be considered. I look at it this way: Harden and Curry are the leading candidates, have LBJ or Westbrook done anything to surpass either of those two? No, so why even discuss them or consider them?
ONLY Way Davis Deserves it Over Westbrook is if OKC Fails to Make the Playoffs and the Pelicans DO Make the Playoffs... ONLY Way that Happens is if Westbrook Suffers a Season ENDING Injury... REED:mj:
What, like Register 6 Triple Doubles in his Last 8 Games or AVERAGE 33, 11 and 11 in the 12 Games Durant's Missed???... REED:mj:
Huh???:dunno:... There HASN'T Been a Close 2nd to Westbrook Since the All-Star Break, Which was MORE than a Month Ago... REED:mj:
The only way it happens is if DURANT suffers a season ending injury. OKC is 5-5 in their last 10. Pelicans are 7-3.
And his team is 5-5 in the last 10. Not remarkable. Since the all-star break, he's averaging 5.7 turnovers, shooting 43% on over 24 FGA a game. THIS is why even though he's putting up incredible numbers, his team is playing mediocre.
westbrook has been putting up numbers, but he has the ball almost every play and is attacking. so of course he's getting up a lot of shots and when he doesnt shoot he is putting guys in position to get assists. and as pointed about above the team isnt necessarily winning. his FG % is still the same as always (low) and his assist to turnover ratio is not great for a PG either at 2/1. most impressive thing is the energy he plays with the rebounding
That's only 14 games REED. "Linsanity" lasted twice as long, and that shit Knicks team went 16-10, and as I remember, his biggest criticizers were focusing on "small sample size"
Were you Referring to James Harden or Russell Westbrook, because that Aptly Describes them BOTH... REED:scratcher:
Westbrook's #'s were Top Tier Even PRIOR to the All-Star Break, Dude...You Make It Seem like he was Averaging 15 or 20, Then Starting Playing Lights Out AFTER the Break... That's Faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from the Case...& Please DON'T Even Mention Lin's Name in the Same Breath as Westbrook, EVER Again... REED:red:
REED Isn't Sure Ya'll are Paying Attention to the NUMBERS... Harden - 27pts, 7ast, 5.8reb, 2stl, 44%fg, 87%ft, 38%3pt, 4to's, 65 games, 44-22 record Curry - 23.5pts, 7.8ast, 4.4reb, 2.2stl, 48%fg, 91%ft, 42%3pt, 3.1to's, 64 games, 53-13 record Westbrook - 27.5pts, 8.4ast, 7.3 reb, 2.1stl, 43%fg, 84%ft, 30%3pt, 4.3to's, 52games, 37-30 record The Thing about OKC's Record is, they've LOST 10 of the 15 Games he's Missed, Including a Season Worst 6 Straight...11 of 16, if you Count a Game Earlier this Season, when Westbrook Got Hurt in the 1st 9 Minutes... REED Isn't Saying Russell Westbrook SHOULD Get the League's MVP, but to Act like he has NO Argument ISN'T the Least Bit Factual...Dude is LEADING the League in Scoring & is 4th in Assists...Sorry, but that's MVP Level Shit, Fellas.... REEDance1:
I'm paying attention to the numbers, that's why he would be #4 at the highest on my MVP list. As I've mentioned before, everyone automatically disqualifies AD because his team isn't good enough, but doesn't OKC have an identical record? If you say "look at WB's numbers" well... AD's last 7 games roughly (haven't calculated his numbers for tonight's game) 30 ppg 11 rpg 5 bpg 3.5 apg 55% FG shooting His team went 5-2. I think I'd rather have those type of numbers any day. As far as how many losses OKC has incurred in WB's absence, how do you think say, the Rockets would fair without Harden? With Dwight and TJones out most of the season, I'd say they would have lost even MORE games. So....basically there's no excuse for OKC's record, it is what it is. My original point is this, disqualify AD from the MVP convo, then disqualify WB. Do they both deserve a vote or two, sure why not. Lin and Westbrook are both players in the NBA. :stir:
i cant vouch for comparing westbrook to the bum lin, but davis is a better player. big men simply have more of an impact on winning. no GM in his right mind would take westbrook over davis
harden makes the right play more often than westbrook. houston moves the ball better and harden makes more plays where guys are set up to score OR make the extra pass for an even easier shot. he also shoots a lot better from the arc. so his adjusted FG % is not even close
Yeah I read somewhere earlier this season that Harden leads the league in assisted 3 pointers. That is him hitting his teammates with passes that they convert to 3 point shots.
Wade got his groove back. Heat will make some serious noise in the East next season if he keeps it up.
