Note that this results in only 12 fights per year on ESPN as the result.

from fightnews.com:

[h=1]ESPN reaches multi-year agreement to televise Premier Boxing Champions series, ESPN2 FNF boxing series to end on May 22[/h]PBC on ESPN to air 12 two-hour live shows annually on ESPN and ABC
ESPN will televise Premier Boxing Champions, a series created for television by Haymon Boxing, featuring top-level fights between many of boxing’s biggest names. The multi-year agreement was announced today. The first of 12 two-hour annual live Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN (PBC on ESPN) telecasts is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN (not ESPN2) and ESPN Deportes. ESPN telecasts will air live in primetime. ABC broadcasts will air on Saturday afternoon, with further details to be announced at a later date.
Card details of the first PBC on ESPN telecast and subsequent shows will be announced at a later date. After 17 years, ESPN2’s long-standing Friday Night Fights series will air its last show Friday, May 22 with the finals of the Boxcino 2015 tournament.
“ESPN has a long history of carrying world-class boxing events and the new Premier Boxing Champions series continues our commitment to the sport with premier-level primetime fights previously only available on premium cable networks,” said John Skipper, ESPN president.
PBC on ESPN telecasts will be produced by ESPN. Blow-by-blow commentator Joe Tessitore and analyst Teddy Atlas will call the fights ringside on ESPN and ABC. Additional on-air commentators will be announced at a later date. ESPN3, ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, will present non-televised undercard bouts and PBC on ESPN weigh-ins live leading up to the fights.

Good

Hopefully this means it's the last we hear of Atlas. Used to like him, but now he's completely insignifiant.

But if Atlas is not there how will us viewers know what tactics fighters should use when there is a difference in height between them?

they only have to record a voice telling that the shorter fighter has to fight inside, and the taller fighter has to use his jab, and everything gonna be alright

"Smith, the SHORTER MAN, needs to move inside on the TALLER, LONGER Jackson... Right now he's standing out there in no man's land... He's in a rainstorm holding his umbrella but the wind is pushing the rain to the left and the right and he's saying "why am I gettin wet??" You gotta get out of the rain and get inside!!!"

Were Atlas's parents originally from the City? I never understood where he got that accent from, way up there in the Adirondacks ... They must've been, I don't know how else he would acquire it

I still prefer Atlas to that mook Bernstein, at least he's somewhat amusing. Bernstein is completely clueless, and sans amusement.

Bernstein is a lot smarter than Atlas and a lot better.

Atlas is a fucking idiot when it comes to scoring. No, Teddy, we don't need an investigation EVERY FUCKING TIME a judge doesn't score a fight the same way as you do.

Atlas is a fucking idiot when it comes to the sanctioning bodies.

Atlas is/was a fucking idiot when it came to The Ring and its champs and rankings.

Atlas is a twit when it comes to fighters anywhere, but the East Coast. Yes, Teddy, despite what you think, it's easy enough to build a fighter's record so it looks better than the fighter actually is, INCLUDING the East Coast.

Bernstein is never like this, whether you like him or agree with him. He's smart and has reasonable opinions.

Atlas is good at evaluating talent, I guess. He actually will state his predictions ahead of time.

That explains it... I knew he grew up in the Adirondacks but if he was born on
SI and his parents were from there, that explains it

Yep. No such luck. Atlas is still in the picture.

I'm a little disappointed because I liked for there to be fights every week, consistently. But there's no doubt fnf has gone to shit some how.....seems like the match ups the last two years have been bad.

Agreed with that. At least Teddy says what he thinks before hand unlike someone like Emmanuel Steward who often claimed things went exactly as he suspected but only stated the obvious when doing an analysis. Often times Teddy was correct. (and naturally made a point of always reminding everyone)

On the other hand when Atlas was wrong he would try to make it sound like it would have been different had he been in charge. "I said stay away from that guy's right hand and left hook!"

This looks like the spiritual successor to FNF. It adds a total of 8 cards to 2015 beginning May 1st.

from fightnews.com:
[h=2]truTV & Top Rank partner to exclusively televise live Friday night primetime boxing series[/h]Series Premieres with Two Title Fights on Friday, May 1, at 10 p.m. ET from The Chelsea Inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
truTV and Top Rank will partner to exclusively televise a live Friday night primetime boxing series beginning Friday, May 1, at 10 p.m. ET. The new boxing series, in association with Turner Sports and HBO Sports, will launch on the eve of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao pay-per-view fight with a card featuring two title bouts inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Maximizing visibility, the inaugural series on truTV will feature three consecutive weeks of boxing coverage in May – all airing on the evening prior to a Saturday night HBO fight event – along with a slate of five additional fights to be scheduled over the remainder of the year. The schedule will regularly feature some of the most exciting, established young talent in boxing. Turner Sports and HBO Sports, with its long and rich history with the sport of boxing, will contribute resources as well as marketing and digital platforms in support of the new series.
