You said the sports most powerful figures have never been outed. That's false.

ok. Well I was operating on your own premise that you'd never heard of it happening. So in light of the fact your premise is false, what exactly is your case for claiming these bad decisions are not due to corruption?

I want you to back up your claim that Arum fixed Pacquiao/Bradley.

I don't think brown envelopes are ever exchanged - the refs & judges rely on the people with the cash to continue getting gigs though don't they? The incentives line up.

Like the revolving door in politics/civil service innit - Barclay's don't hand over brown envelopes (usually) but the regulators know they get a 6 figure salary in the city or on wall street in 5 years if they go with the flow.

Yeah sometimes judges with terrible scorecards you don't hear from again and others keep getting gigs. It seems if they're going to judge a fight poorly they tend to somehow know in which direction to do it.

I don't buy it. No judge in their right mind could score Bradley over Pacquiao, or call Floyd Vs Canelo a draw.

Sometimes it's too obvious too, the name fighter getting the benefit of the doubt, look at horrendous robberies like Rios Vs Abril, or obscenely biased refs like in Mares Vs Agbeko.

Exactly, it'S not really hard to figure either. They know wich guy they have to ''get in'' for the gravy train to keep on rollin'. Plus, in some of the really bizarre decision, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the judges bet on the fight (not personally of course, but through some middle man). It happened in basketball so you can bet it happens in the toilet bowl of the sporting world that is boxing.

It's kind of like trying to PROVE that a congressman or senator is bought... Extremely hard to do if the actors are smart and careful ... Doesn't mean it isn't true

Agreed, I'm no conspiracy nut, but corruption does exist pretty much everywhere that a lot of money or power is at stake, it's silly to doubt that.

Surely there'd be some semblance of a leak, some disgruntled former judge that would back these theories up.

I have no doubt some fights are fixed. I get that.

The annoying part about institutional corruption in the other areas mentioned is that we find out about it and can't do anything. But shit leaks all the time.

Quite an impressive racket if that's the case. I don't recall a former judge ever telling a story about the powers telling him/her to fall in line if they ever want to work again.

You'd think there would be several if it was common.

I don't think it would be blatant like that ... It would be a wordless understanding... You know where your bread is buttered, that sort of thing

So how do you think the fixing of Bradley/Pacquiao would work?

When Pernell Whitaker was done weighing in for the first Ramirez fight, he got a contract shoved in his face for a unification match with Chavez in the event he beat Ramirez (in complete defiance of the WBC's practice of not listing rival champions, JCC was suddenly listed as Ramirez's number 1 contender, a WBC exec later stated Suliaman had specifically requested this break with protocol as he was hoping a Chavez/Ramirez match would be made) Shelly Finkel told them to fuck off and told Whitaker not to sign a damned thing because if he won, he'd be a much bigger player and whatever price they were offering would be chump change... He in turn went out and boxed Ramirez stupid, controlled the fight with ease and won probably no fewer than 9 rounds... He lost a decision with utterly bizarre scoring... One judge had Whitaker comfortably ahead, another had Ramirez ahead by the bizarre score of 116-115 and the third had Ramirez winning TEN ROUNDS... Ramirez's next bout? A unification with Chavez, naturally

Shelly Finkel accused Suliaman and King of fixing the outcome... Suliaman sued for libel and Finkel had to admit that he couldn't PROVE the charge... Any doubts about what happened there?

No, none. And as stated above, King's shenanigans are well documented.

No charge against King has ever been made for that fight, not a shred of irrefutable evidence exists. Logic and circumstance tell us King and Suliaman fixed the bout. It's accepted universally as a horrendous decision. No one can prove a thing.

Well, for starters, I don't think Pacquiao/Bradley is in the same league as Whitaker/Ramirez in terms of theft.

I don't like the comparison to King-related anything.

Yeah. I thought Pacquiao won, but he missed a lot and didn't do much.

I felt it was a very boring fight, and not worth rewatching, but Pacquiao won 10 rounds.

Unless you don't count bodyshots, I just can't see any way that bout was even a draw

No word on one case isn't really that crazy. It's the three or four (more or less, depends) times a year a bad decision comes with cries of fix.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but man, quite a racket they're running to achieve that level of silence over that many bad decisions/fixes.

CJ Ross's card for mayweather jr - alvarez was far more corrupt than her card for bradley - pacquiao I

I disagree simply because how would you PROVE that someone's card doesn't reflect their true interpretation of the events? The whole thing is Swiss cheese to begin with

its not like a dive or an blatantly biased official where ACTIONS are judged ... Here you are attempting judge what exactly? Private thoughts/impressions?
