Hard to imagine any era where the consensus 1 and 2 in the division was not a "Compelling Fight".

    Where are you SIRS????????

Will this be for Miguel's "Catchweight" Title, or his "Middleweight" Title?

It's proper and fitting but there's nothing compelling about unless Cotto being comatose or not counts

Ha, but of course. I think the figure "160 Pounds" used to be mentioned once upon a time.

Its a long time ago now.

But he looks funny when he loses!!!!

    Funny, see.....:dunno: Funny.

Also, to avoid looking like that, he did a FUCKLOAD of holding the 2nd time out.

    Now, lets address the question:

IS IT RIGHT that the Consensus 1 and 2 Won't fight.........................nothing compelling about Tommy Burns being laid out by Jack Johnson.

But 1 vs 2. It must be.

I voted yes on the grounds that HBO stops calling Cotto "The Lineal Middleweight Champion".

It annoys me just as much as when HBO kept calling Roy Jones Jr. "The Heavyweight Champion Of The World" after he beat Booiz, instead of "A Heavyweight Champion".

He did hardly any holding, just a lot of moving, counterpunching, and not getting hit by magic wraps made of concrete.

Voting yes does not equal agreeing the match is compelling... It's an easy match to predict... Cotto gets his head handed to him ... Not compelling... But if the guy's going to be The Champ, it's fitting/proper that he defend against the best

are you too fucking dense to comprehend this?

He held at key moments. You can't say he did hardly any. He held when he had to and it was damned smart of him.

    No.

If it is fitting, it must be done, as in COMPULSION.

You and and I are feuding much but I think we may both put this down to context.

For me it is compelling, he should be compelled.

For you, it is not compelling, i.e. it is not interesting.

Innocent crossing of wires. No harm done.

When the Multi-Millionaire that I never met lost a sporting contest...no...I did not cry.

Last time I cried over sports was Julio Salinas destroying Ireland in 1993.

Nope, its just the context. No actual disagreement. I think he should be compelled, you think he should too, but we are applying different meanings of the word. Context is all.
I think it is unfortunate that it has come to this, but for me, this is the inevitable end-result of this catch-weight nonsense, that a talented and popular fighter finds himself adrift and facing a guy who will most likely kill him if they fight.

But....as I say, it is the natural end product of this weights bullshit. The only way to save Cotto now is with more weights bullshit, by making GGG come in light or something.

    Even that might not help.

I used to be like that. I say, there is only one fighter that I feel like that about today, and that is Amir Khan.

I am happy to go on the record about Khan.

Its part Pops Garcia, part Bert Sugar. I don't like the cunt. He's a parki fraud. He is so well managed. He handpicks opponents. He talks UTTER shit about why he loses. UTTER FUCKING BALONEY. If Klit is a conspiracy theorist...what the fuck is this guy "Cat in the Hat"....come on. He WON'T fight his best British opponents. Broner..fucking Broner....even then...I am lairy about seeing guys in a bad way. It could end badly, I mean wheelchair bad.

If the Williams Sisters want to shove balls up each others manly holes, so be it.

    This is boxing.

In the WWE world of North American sensibilities, it might make sense for people to fight their brother.

    Not elsewhere.

Hell, you fucking lot are in two minds about 1 vs 2 at 160.............and they sure as fuck ain't related.

1 should always be forced to fight 2 in boxing unless they are brothers or sisters.

    This is boxing.

The best fight the best with only certain exception.

I don't deny it................Cotto is very popular, but he took the Martinez fight and now he must take this, or leave.

The best player on my little league team had a broken arm so he couldn't play... He was a third baseman... As the only other child capable of throwing the ball fast enough from third to first, I had to take his place... A well hit grounder in my direction, I got ready to scoop it up like Graig Nettles... Hit a pebble, jumped in the air and drilled me in the nuts... Wincing with tears in my 9 year old eyes, I insisted some dirt had gotten in my face

I'm jealous of you guys and your childhood baseball memories. Newfoundland, the mini-Ireland it is, made me a soccer player. Fuck sake.
