Brook earned my respect against Porter. He has some skill and good power it seems.

That said, SRL is way outta his league. Leonard probably gets him out within 6.

how the hell was that a respectable performance on brooks part? It was just another example of the kind of negative shit ttat drives fans away and often steals victory from the better man.

 

Porter was the one instigating most of that holding and wrestling.

 

If Porter was a better man than Brook, he sure didn't prove it by getting drilled in the mouth with right hand counters all night, and displaying some of the most ineffective aggression you'll ever see.

And yup, as PR said, Porter was responsible for most of the holding and wrestling.

I think you need to rewatch the fight and take a closer look at Porter.

It's baffling, because you hate on Hatton so much for being a grappler.

Porter makes Hatton seem like Arguello by comparison.

Porter shoulda been in MMA.

Brook countered the Hell outta him and won the fight clear as day.

Now, obviously this MM I posted was a joke. Leonard would wipe his ass with Brook inside of 5.

But Brook isn't a bad fighter. You make it seem as if he's devoid of any skills, which isnt the case.

 

I saw the fight again and to me it wasn't really all that close. I had it 8-4 for Brook. I just saw very little in terms of clean punching from Porter and he was hurt a couple of times in that fight.

Is Brook an ATG? No. But he is a solid guy with skill and ring IQ, plus power. How Porter is a better fighter than him I fail to see. Porter is a less talented version of Hatton.

 

I think I'd favour Leonard.

I have said nothing of the sort... The guy held non stop in the fight... Porter is fucking garbage, he was just rushing in throwing arm punches, he wasn't initiating clinches... You are allowed to come forward and throw arm punches like a caveman... A real fighter catches you coming in and evades your offense... Brook's answer to this aggression was clinching ... He should have had points taken off if he's too scrubby to legally handle the tepid offense of a bum like Porter
