I'd love to go out and watch it, but I doubt anywhere around here is even showing it.

I doubt it will be on the TV at most places around here ... Besides why would I want to sit sober surrounded by drunks on a Saturday night trying to see the TV?

To look at both of their buildings and to see a river that catches on fire.

They won't... There'll be a little village with skyscrapers where about 30,000 rich people live... The rest of the land and people will become American Favelas

Getting some rich people to live in those skyscrapers instead of 50 miles away in suburban mansions would be the gratist first step imaginable

They do. It's the middle class that typically move to the burbs because the city centers are either too expensive or filled with crime.

Yup... Middle class leave... Working class are pushed out ... The poor are isolated in a bad neighborhood or two and redlined ...

It says most of the new residents are 18-34 year olds so i'd imagine allot of them are just ordinary joes income wise. Surely prohibitively expensive housing isnt the big problem in the rust belt anyway? its getting a decent city neighbourhood going that enough people actually wanna live in/near. There's gapsites and vacant buildings all around the centres of these cities.

It's jobs ... There's no jobs that pay a living wage for a regular person ... I'd imagine most of those 18-34s are well to do or have parents who are well to do ... You'll never have these cities returning to their historic highs, it will just get lower and more exclusive economically with the people concentrated in one spot... This shit is already happening in Brooklyn... "The resurgence of Brooklyn" is really just working class and poor being priced out of places they've lived for decades ... Getting pushed out

Hut, we want the same thing, I just don't think it's happening at all... What's happening now is wealthy kids moving to Brooklyn to start "Joshua's Ironic Facial Hair Waxitorium"

That's sure better than white flight and urban decay circa 1981. A tiny handful of places like Manhattan, San fran, inner London might end up with too many rich people but that's not where inner city Cleveland or cincinatti are man.

And now they will either be knocked down to make room for a perfume bottle/letter opener architectural monstrosity or turned into apartments for the well off ... All this supposed revival to me just smacks of the mirror image of decay... Still no place for the common person to live...
