Where's he gonna work in New York, the biggest metropolitan economy on earth? C'mon, man

The fact cities are growing and physically regenerating again is an excellent thing!

It's true! Unless you have a bunch of roommates, you need to be pulling down at least 100K to live alone in NYC

Don't exaggerate. I know a guy who lives in Queens that has his own 362 sq foot apartment and he only makes 85K per year.

You're talking about buying a place? That's way out of reach for the average person, too. You optimally have a 20% down payment or you get raped with PMI and high interest rates.. 20% of 200k is $40k. How many working class people do you know who have $40k in the bank to throw down on a place?

What do you live in, a tent? That's like $150 a month... You couldn't live in a garbage can 10 minutes from THE CITY OF WATERBURY and the remains of its financial district for that amount... Unless you shared the can with a couple of dudes

I just put a search in a price comparison site for 10% deposit deals on 200k mortgages in NYC and got 3.9% back :dunno: An average couple could save $10k each. Monthly payment 840 bucks a month.....$420 each? Thats less than my rent. Of course, NYC wages are twice as high as the US average, too

My humble flat is worth over £200k, so almost $300k, and the average wage in my town is probably like 16k or something.

The wages to living costs/property price ratio is completely fucked in a lot of places in the UK.

You have to have excellent credit to qualify for those rates at that amount down, and then on top of that you have to pay PMI (mortgage insurance) anyway. I'm curious what you're seeing in NYC for 200k.. guessing a studio apartment in the hood (links)? You get much more bang for your buck living outside the city and commuting into it, and I doubt many couples would want to share a studio.

Not only that but the average wage is greatly skewed by the amount of extremely high paid professionals living in the city ... It's not like a guy pumping gas at the Shell station on the West Side Highway is making $20 an hour

I am amazed at myself that right now I am not excited AT ALL with this fight. Maybe I am losing my interest in boxing or maybe this frigging bout took too damn long to materialize.

I'm right there with you. I'll end up watching it, but I recently considered going to watch a band that night instead. I've lost interest in both guys and the mutual apparent PED use, the delay, and the fact that neither is really p4p #1 anymore, all puts a very bitter taste on this fight for me.

edit: Now I see the Santa Cruz fight will be a non-title fight. Another reason not to care about this fight card.

They're going out of their way to fleece fans with this one.

    - $1,500 the cheapest ticket
    - No PPV in non-MGM hotels if you're in Vegas that weekend
    - $150 to watch the fight on closed circuit TV in Vegas at MGM owned properties
    - $99.95 for the PPV (be honest, how many non-HD TV's will order this)
    - Charging fans to attend the weigh in

I hope this fight falls flat on it's face. I'd be happy if the PPV numbers came in under projections.

mayweather jr.'s past several fights were always closed circuit only at MGM properties

Was the entry fee more than the PPV?

yea, i believe it was 100 for the alvarez fight. usually its the same price as whatever the ppv is. i remember for mayweather jr vs delahoya ppl were scalping closed circuit tickets for triple face value

If this fight was made years ago I think manny beats Floyd convincingy. Now based on performances I think floyd has pretty much kept his hand speed while manny is a touch slower now...also floyd has filled out nicely and manny indont think can muscle him around the ring like he could have years ago

    Floyd by counter shot ko

Me 2...I'm not that excited for it..weird..Maybe when it's a few days away then I will get excited. I have off work the whole week(some shit I use to do back in the Trinidad days :crafty: )But right now i'm not feeling it....and the weird thing is that people around me are not talking about it either...other than other boxing heads...and they just do it to annoy me...the question is "who you got"..."motherfucker i tell you the same shit every day FLOYD...but I hope he gets ko'd"....Just the other day I was talking to a friend who use to be big into boxing 5-10 years ago now he just watch when it's Cotto, FLoyd or Pacquiao...he didn't know they were going to FIGHT...he was in SHOCK......which takes me to my other point this fight is being PROMOTED/advertised terribly!!! ....

    FloydIdiots and PacTards...

What sparring stories have you heard...has manny hospitalized his sparring partners...did Manny take a week off sparring to let facial bruises heal?

Did Floyd get KO'd by a bodyshot (ya'll musta forgot) or has he whupped up on bigger sparring partners?

I can't wait for the day that both Pac and Floyd retire...

The new era in boxing needs to begin already.
