Looks like the machines captured him and did some experiments to get his mom even earlier.

Usually pre judgment of a movie messes with your ability to give an honest assessment after seeing it. I try to avoid that. Especially if I plan to see the movie. If i dont plan to see it, and it looks like shit, i will bash it. That being said, everyone in this thread will see this movie.

I totally agree with you. I didn't like the Pacific Rim trailer. Panchy didn't like it either. However, the movie was AWESOME!!!!!

Pretty good movie. The critics are slamming it but the audiences like it.

I wanted to see it before the critics said what they did, now I'm not as interested. They messed up the Terminator franchise from the time they used Arnie in the sequel and had that ridiculous liquid metal terminator. Don't get me wrong T2 was a fun film...but it was a terrible sequel.

I went to see this in the first weekend. I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't very good. It was a bit like the last Indiana Jones or Die Hard 4.0, it wasn't a total disaster but nothing special either. Out of the recent comebacks, Jurassic Park was clearly better.

The movie looks really good and the new Sarah Connor is excellent but it simply lacks the intensity of the originals. Also, the storyline was much more complicated than it should have been.

I prefer T1 over T2 btw. The first Terminator is possibly the best action movie ever made, the sequel had a bit too much comedy in it so it would please bigger crowds

T1 wasnt an action movie. It was more a horror movie. T2 is one of the best action movies ever.

Two different types of Movie IMO.

Word. T1 is clearly the superior film. GREAT GREAT film, intriguing backstory, drama, suspense. Anyone who says T2 is better is a teenyboppa.

t1 was kinda a serious film whereas t2 was a movie. If that makes any sense. Both are pretty much 5 star for what they are and what they were going for.

yup. T2 wasn't a good sequel though. It killed the backstory that was presented in the first film.

I totally agree with both of you guys: The Terminator (original release title before they decided to drop 'The' for some reason) was a fantastic, innovative, great written low budget science fiction thriller that compensated its lack of visual effects with great pacing, character development and plot twists. The result was an instant masterpiece. T2: Judgment Day was the most expensive movie ever made by 1991 standards, $102 million, contrary to the first film $6.4 million. With such unlimited resources James Cameron(who at first resisted the idea of a sequel as he considered that the story was over, but conceded to do it as the studio was going ahead with plans for a sequel with or without him) paid more attention to the visual effects and stunts than to the script. The result was a visually striking rollercoaster action film that wowed audiences with its revolutionary special effects, but that was just a recycle of the first film on steroids. When I first watched that film I was in awe of its visuals, but felt the action was too noisy, overkill and that the plot was sadly not original and at times just plain dumb.

    Wrong.

I have no plans to go to the movies to watch it nor to rent this film on Redbox. Maybe I'll do it when is available on free streaming if I am too bored.

27% rating on rottentomatoes is hardly a 'good movie'.

T2 was fun fun fun. No doubt, but the plot was terrible, comparative to the first one. In the original Reese didn't identify the Terminator until it moved on Sarah Connor the first time (at the nightclub). Why? Because all terminators looked unique, just like humans. T2, however, starts the suggestion (which was continued in T3) that there's some assembly line of Arnold Looking terminators that are churned out en masse. Very annoying.
Secondly there's a HUGE stretch between having a terminator which has living tissue over a metal endo-skeleton, and having a liquid metal terminator that change form at will (while still magically having the metal transform to living tissue). Cool concept...but not for the terminator franchise....toooooo unrealistic. It would have taken a Millennium of advancement in technology to get to the second form from the first form.

T2 should have been about how skynet came to be, and the start of the resistance, and john Connor etc. Not some annoying child John Connor and a second more advanced terminator. I mean, why not send the more advanced one back further in the past to kill the mother? Makes no sense.

Fun film (and a stand alone) but a fucked up sequel.

Yeah, T1 the Terminator is nearly believable. You can understand that such a machine kills people but it can be fought against too, even with physical strength. In T2 the robot seems to have all kinds of supernatural capabilities, yet it can't outrun a moped and it has to wrestle with the older robot and have a fist fight with it instead of just blasting it to pieces

Well it went against the two most successful movies of the year who both seem to have great stamina also.

The two most successful films of the year so far are Jurassic World and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'. At this point 'Ultron' has already exited the current top ten movies list. "Inside Out' is a big hit but nowhere near 'Jurassic' or "Ultron" numbers.

Sorry my fault. Furious 7 is probably also better. But Inside out is doing very decently.

Terminator Genisys I watched it on free stream a couple of weeks ago and had no plans to review it just for Anthony's sake (see his last posts in this thread). But since he had ample of time to watch and I just want to say I TOLD YOU SO so bad, well I guess he is pretending he hasn't watch it yet to avoid further humiliation. In a nutshell: the director tried and failed to cram way too much in just two hours which results in a convoluted mess of a storyline with zero character development, unmemorable action scenes, cringe worthy old Arnold trying to be funny when he is not delivering one liners hoping one is the next 'I'll be back', there is zero chemistry between the actors playing Sarah Connor & Reese (I love Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones, but no one will forget Linda Hamilton watching Clarke here). This film is just shit. It messes up what the other 4 films build with its inept attempt at an alternate timeline. I hope they cancel any sequel plans to not further damage what was once a great franchise. 3/10

Nothing. I was just messing with you.

Ok I said that this film, per its trailer, had turkey written all over it. Then you said you try to avoid to bash any film that you plan to watch. Well, did you watched it already? Lets discuss.

Don't. It is really shitty. This one makes the last two look like masterpieces.
