well, reed, the guy said it and im quite sure others believe it to be true. i personally think nick young is a piece of shit but the guy is a proven scorer in the NBA. the ONLY year the clippers advanced in the postseason past memphis with this cast was largely due to the contributions of nick young.
OKC is 2-7 when WB has 35+ points. That's just the facts. I've played streetball with 8-10 ex or current NBA players, all are probably ex by now, but they have egos man, all of them. Even in a pick up game. WB said his team didn't have a problem with him shooting 43 times, no way no how that's true. I don't think any NBA coach, especially a good one, not Brooks, would be ok with him shooting the rock 43 times while they are fighting for a playoff seed. About FG%, I did state that TRUE FG% was a more indicative factor, and Harden is 18th, Westbrook is 165th. Harden shoots 4 shots less and scores roughly the same amount, that's is where his true inefficiency lies. The rest of your post, I agree with.
Yeah heard it on the radio this morning. He ended up hitting 94 out of 100. Crazy. They asked Klay Thompson what was the highest he hit in a row, he said 37 I believe.
Point was the TREND, and the trend did continue as predicted. I didn't get all the numbers right, I acknowledged that, but I actually did get some.
His career until now included Durant. Durant does MUCH better by without WB than WB without Durant. WB may not even lead his team to an 8 seed, they need to win and Spurs help. I don't believe, that unless he makes some changes, he will ever lead a team to even a WCF without having to have a player of Durant's level on it, but with a player like Durant on his team, he's no longer leading the team, Durant is.
pelicans are beating the spurs at the moment. we'll see if they can close them out in the second half. hopefully they can after the league pulled this bullshit where they rescinded westbrooks last technical that wouldve resulted in a suspension completely fucking over the pelicans
Yeah the finals will probably be a different story for me. Something I should probably mention too: I'm stationed in Japan so when the games are on during the week I'm usually at work and I don't get the chance to watch them live even if I wanted to. So going home and watching them on download kind of spoiled me and I don't like watching them live anymore. Even on the weekends at my girlfriends crib, if it comes on I'll just record it on her tv and watch it later so I can ffw through all the muck. But the finals, I'll probably watch that live.
Yep, I'm really watching ESPN checking the scores on that and rooting hard for the Pelicans. OKC is destroying the Timberwolves which is expected since the Timberwolves don't have anyone to match up with OKC's frontline. Pelicans own the tiebreak so all they have to do is hold on to the lead.
Kudos to the New Orleans Pelicans for TAKING their Spot in the Playoffs, as Opposed to Backing In...The Spurs WANTED to Win that Game to a Large Degree, yet the Pelicans Wanted it Even MORE... Anthony Davis, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday, Omer Asik...That's a VERY Talented Team that Really Only Started to Gel LATE in the Regular Season... REED's NEVER Trusted Golden State, Despite Steph Curry's Excellence...The Pelicans Will Be a TOUGH Out for the Warriors... REED:hammert:
Yes sir, the guys that were talking about it on the radio were asking Klay about it, when doing so, they asked how many he has hit in a row. I thought he'd be higher as he's a damn good shooter too.
To put the Westbrook thing to bed, I'll say this, he did everything he could to get his team into the playoffs. His effort, heart, determination, fierceness were all there. I think he needs a better coach to guide him. Dude is still a young player who can still learn a lot. Fire Brooks.
Yeah I think it does Westbrook way more good to get extended rest and miss the playoffs rather than deal with a wasted 1 and done. And yeah, fire Scott Brooks, dude couldn't even get this team to the playoffs much less have them play defense at a consistent rate. As athletic a team as they are they should have been much better on defense. Brooks is an okay coach, but look at what Golden State did with what at the time looked like only a slight coaching upgrade with a sprinkle of risk on top. Thunder need to make a similar change. I do have to wonder though would they be afraid of making a coaching change and running the risk of pissing off Durant whom they need to sign. That could be a risky move for the organization.
They are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Keep Brooks to make Durant happy. Fire Brooks make Durant unhappy. Winning a chip would make Durant the happiest. The top two conflict with each other. I wonder if they keep Kanter.
Hopefully the bigger cap makes it more of a possibility. If anything I see Kanter being the reason we shop Adams. Adams is a good prospect but I'm certain he'll never be as skilled a center as Kanter is. Personally I think we should shop Nick Collison if it means we get to keep Adams. I know Nick has been with the team longer than anyone and that they drafted him back as a Supersonic, but I think keeping a young prospect like Adams is more important than sparing the feelings of an average role player.
I've heard Thompson has shot 200 plus shots from the arc without missing 2 in a row. 77 straight is hard to believe
What do you guys think about TS%, as opposed to FG%? It takes into account 3-pointers and free-throws. Some fans swear by it and say it proves more than FG% and others say it's horsecrap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_shooting_percentage In basketball, true shooting percentage is an APBRmetrics statistic that measures a player's efficiency at shooting the ball.[SUP][1][/SUP] It is intended to more accurately calculate a player's shooting than field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and three-point field goal percentage taken individually. Two- and three-point field goals and free throws are all considered in its calculation. It is abbreviated TS%. It is calculated by: where: PTS = points scored, FGA = field goal attempts, FTA = free throw attempts
i think if you factor in 3 pt FG % it proves harden is a far more efficient shooter than westbrook. reed doesnt seem to think it matters
I've pointed out in previous posts that it is a much better true indicator of FG% efficiency. Most teams/scouts/analytic depts have been putting much more stock into true FG% for quite awhile now actually.
