I'd venture to say this fight will NOT disappoint.

Matty Ice by late KO for me.

Anything else than all-around total destruction derby is a disappointment in this one.

Traditional wisdom is that Matty should take it. Between two big bangers who like to collide, usually the bigger puncher wins. That would be Matthysse, as he has good enough chin too.

However, somehow I think Provos body attack and his ability to finish strong will win him the fight. Provo can be outboxed and he would probably lose to Garcia more clearly than Matthysse did, but as an aggressor he is a freaking maniac. Provo by late accumulation stoppage, perhaps in the last round

If Provo had the faintest idea of how to finish off a hurt opponent, I might favor him here but I think Matthysse's better technical quality carries the day and I think Provo is stopped to facial injuries rather than via the true KO, I think he is durable as hell and combined with Matthysse respecting his power and picking his spots accordingly ... Matthysse will hit the canvas in this fight, Provo might hit the canvas but in the end, I expect him to resemble a gargoyle

Yeah, facial injuries are an issue for Provo.

I could see Matthysse finishing him off to the body. Bradley hurt him to the body and him pissing body after.

Also, people are saying that a slugfest favors Provo..... Matthysse is the one here who's never lost a war.

Garcia beat Matthysse with smart boxing.

Provo got bested in a brutal war with Bradley (barely, but still).

Matthysse is truly a guy you have to outbox to beat.

Whose body was he pissing? Was he pissing body, or pissing on a body?

Bradley did best when he didn't go to war with the FFH Provo. When he engaged Provo, he got thumped, by and large.

Provo is the classic guy you have to outbox to beat, and he's not the hardest guy to outbox, as evidenced by the Algieri fight.

This is a pick em fight to me, if it's a war I think Provo wins, and Lucas isn't exactly the best boxer. I've never been truly sold on Lucas, I'll be impressed if he beats Provo convincingly.

Matthyssee via mid-late rounds KO. His power and technique are the major differences .

You called him a good, solid guy who shouldn't be on that scrub Broner's undercard, and that's what he is. I agree with cdogg's prediction, Matthysse by late round cut/swelling stoppage.

Matthysse to finish off Algieri's leftovers.

    Matthysse TKO4

Yeah that's absolutely true, he is a good solid guy who shouldn't be on that scrub Broner's undercard

I just don't think he's quite as good as some people do, I'm surprised everyone is picking Lucas, FFH Provo is a little beast, very limited but beastly.

Call REED Crazy, but he Likes Provodnikov Here...He's the Type of Guy that Fights BETTER when he's Expected to Lose (Bradley) vs. when he's Expected to Win (Algieri)...

Despite his Unquestionable Power, REED Doesn't Expect Matttttthhhhyyyyyssssse to Necessarily LIKE Being in Close Quarters with Provo...Provo will Prove to Be the STRONGER Fighter, in REED's Estimation...If he Consistently Forces Lucas Backwards, it'll Be an Easier Fight than Anticipated...

Like Everybody Else, REED's Expecting a WAR...Multiple Knockdowns, Swelling, Cuts and a Stoppage Finish...The Phrase Gets Overused, but this'll Be 1 of those Bouts where NEITHER Man will Ever Quite Be the Same Again...

    Provodnikov by Late Stoppage...

I'm staying loyal to Matty Ice. He's gonna bust up the Rusky.

Not gonna lie, Provo coming on late for a stoppage wouldn't be the biggest shock.

But I think Matty Ice's firepower and better technical skills wins out.

Yeah, mark me down for Provo. I don't feel strongly about it, just a gut feeling.

Going with Provo against my better instincts. Just think Matthysse is a bit of a fucking fancy dan. Hard to see past the Garcia loss now that Garcia has been {Kind of} exposed a bit.

    Provo, TKO 12.

It can really go either way but now I pick Provo. Styles should favor the bigger puncher, which is Matty, but I just can't forget the Molina fight for him. Provo late

Fuck it, I'm going with FFH Provo too.

French Algiers might have scrubbed out a win against him, but he is a bigger, rangier, completely different fighter to Lucas, and highly negative.

I think Provo has an excellent chance of crushing any fighter who is not of the slick or mobile boxer variety.

And my gut feeling has always been that Lucas isn't quite as good as advertised. Against Garcia he certainly didn't look like the elite warrior many people think.

    FFH Provo by late stoppage.

    THIS...

REED Can't See ANY Current Jr. Welter SUCCESSFULLY Standing & Trading w/Provodnikov....& While Mattthhhhhhyyyyyssse is More Skilled, it's NOT like he's Renown for his Boxing Acumen Either...

Lucas RELIES on his Power, But that ISN'T the Smartest/Safest Way to Go About Trying to Beat a Brusier like Provo...& Again, if Provo Makes Matttttthhhhyyyyssse GIVE Ground, it'll Be an Easier Fight than Anticipated...

Exactly how I see it. Sure, Lucas is the slightly more refined and skilled of the two, but as you suggested, not to the extent that it should really matter. It's not like he's going to box circles round FFH Provo - ultimately he's a fairly aggressive puncher. And yeah, if he can make Mattttttthhhhhhyyyyssssssse give ground and tame him, he should be able to hunt him down and beat him up.

Mu gut feeling too, is that if it really comes down to it, FFH Provo is prepared to dig down harder for the win. He's a tough, determined little bastard.

Agreed on that part, but his skin has to hold up. Provodnikov is a bit like Israel Vazquez. A lot of heart, a lot of power but when watching him it's almost like you can subtract months or years off his career for every round he fights. I think Provo is more gutsy and determined but Matthysse can break his face.

This is true. However I was talking about the world of warriors that simply don't exist outside of Houston. I figured you already knew the distinction.

    Styles.

Which explains why Matty destroyed in 3 the man who just got outboxed and got robbed against Garcia.

At least Garcia is a good fighter.

Matthysse wouldn't lose to no fucking Chris Algeri.

I'm a fan of both these guys for the record. More of a fan of Lucas, but I'm a Provo fan as well.

I simply think Provo is made for Matty. But we'll all find out in less than two hrs.
