If Manny was actually competitive tonight, I would have said perhaps the 09 version beats Floyd. But outside of having two moments, he wasn't really competitive. Therefore, I think even in 09-10 Floyd outboxes him. BUT, that version of Pacquiao would have been more competitive. He's lost a lot of footspeed, and offensive reflexes since 09. Floyd is just better though. There's no doubting that. I mean, there's certain weights where this fight is a mismatch that Manny loses by KO. For instance, at 130............ Floyd would have wiped his ass with Manny and stopped him within 6-7.
Thing is, there were flashes tonight of the kind of energy we saw from pac in 2010. And that's when he had pbf totally confused and scared. So I wouldn't rule out pacquiao victory. I don't think anything tonight should change the mind of those who figured pac would've won then, Floyd wins now.
Mayweather via UD. It would have moments of excitement but Floyd has the advantages that mark the difference in the fight.
I think the fight would have looked more like rounds 4 and 6, where Pacquiao actually somewhat resembled the fast, unpredictable pressure fighter he used to be. Pacquiao by close decision.
