After all those years in boxing Atlas still doesn't realize that more entertaining does not equal better. Nor does he understand that comparing 38-year-old welterweight Floyd to prime Hearns is like comparing 38-year-old cruiserweight Hearns to prime Holyfield

 

Leonard, Hearns, and Duran are three GIVENS. I'd give Floyd NO CHANCE whatsoever at beating those three.

I can't say he has NO chance against Pryor, and Benitez, but I wouldn't have picked him over either.

Atlas is looking at a 38 year old Floyd who's in the 20th year of his career, and comparing him to prime Leonard, Duran and Pryor. Atlas is a cunt that needs to get over himself. Floyd at 28 loses to all 4 of the guys Atlas listed. That was my point.

 

And his prime was at super feather, which has a lot to do with him losing. Atlas doesn't realize this but I believe you do

But that wasn't Atlas' point. Which is what i was referring to. Atlas is looking at a 38 year old Floyd performance and basing it off this.

Secondly, I agree that Floyd loses to hearns and Leonard at 147lbs, however P4P ...he's a better fighter...which IS the point of "TBE". Ray Robinson is ranked higher than Bob Foster, TBE, but at 175lbs...Robinson gets knocked teh fuck out in that matchup. So Atlas bringing Leonard and hearns into this...against the TBE claim is irrelevant. Floyd started of at 130lbs.

 

Incorrect. Floyd was VERY MUCH still at his prime at 135 and 140. 130 just happened to be his best weight.

Just like Jones. Roy's best weight was 168, but he was still in his prime for many years at 175.

The Floyd who beat Ndou at 135, and Gatti at 140 was very much Floyd at his peak.

147 I'll give you. Floyd was never at his best at 147.

 

Floyd would spend all night on the defensive vs Hearns. If Floyd is falling short vs Manny, he is falling short against Hearns.

Hearns takes him out.

 

Hearns, Leonard, and Duran are all nightmares for Floyd, for different reasons.

The only thing that makes Pryor LESS of a nightmare is that Pryor was shorter than Floyd. Pryor was only like 5-6. He'd be jumping in, which would give Floyd countering opportunities, but Pryor simply didn't give a flying fuck and would be more than willing to walk through counters to get in on Floyd.

 

Pryor was wild and open, pretty confident a prime Floyd would beat him tbh.

And I'm even more confident that Duran, Leonard and Hearns would beat Floyd.

 

Pryor had the footspeed to close the gap on Floyd in a hurry. That'd be a BIG problem for Floyd. Floyd has never fought a guy other than Maidana who simply gave no fucks.

Maidana is a scrub. Pryor was a great talent who gave no fucks. He wouldn't be deterred by Floyd's counters.

 

I give Floyd NO CHANCE against Hearns and Leonard. And I'd make him the underdog against the likes of Duran and Benitez though I give him a chance against them (Still think he loses to them).

I'd say he's even money against Pryor. That one could go either way. But Pryor would be a real threat to that 0 and Floyd wouldn't exactly RELISH that fight.

Last night's 38 year old Floyd would have dismantled 38 year old Leonard, made 38 year Duran quit again, and TKO 38 year old cocaine sniffer Pryor. All those Hall of Fame legends were basically shot at that age. However 38 year old Hearns would have KO him silly within 6 rounds IMO.

I dunno about JCC. Whitaker made him look like an amateur and Floyd is better than Pernell.
