Bout the billions is annoying and can be difficult to stomach sometimes but he actually fights. Yes, he's not undefeated but he actually has self respect and mixes it up with his opponents. He's not this bs run and hold and then spin off the ropes and Jim Lampley creams himself and calls it a hard left hook and then punchstat scores it as a "power punch". Bout the billions is actually funny too. Now I like him. At least he can be described as a fighter.
You like him? He's one of the most vile, hideous creatures I've ever seen. Who gives a shit if he's not a runner, he needs to be KTFO more than anyone else in boxing.
What a tard thread. Firstly, when Floyd was in his mid 20s like Broner is, he was FAR more offensive minded than the old man we see today. Secondly, Broner has LESS than a FRACTION of Floyd's talent, and therefore HAS to fight because he doesn't have the athletic ability nor the skills to do what Floyd does. There is NO top fighter in the world whom Broner is good enough to beat. Perhaps his only chance is against slow ass Garcia, but I don't even think he wins that one.
Broner is a scrub. If you're gonna make a thread like this, at least make it about a quality fighter like Crawford.
I'm not saying Broner is a great fighter, i'm just saying when he gets in the ring he has enough self respect to stand up for himself and fight. Floyd doesn't. That's why I have a new found respect for Broner. He talks a lot of shit and shows off but he is a boxer with heart and balls.
I do know that Floyd in his early 20s wouldn't be going life and death with Paulie and Emanuel Taylor.
Alright, maybe I shouldn't have said life and death with Taylor. I dunno about WIDE though. Taylor had his moments, and won a few rounds. But Broner def landed the cleaner shots throughout and won clearly. It was a pretty decent scrap. Regardless, Floyd at Broner's age would have smoked Taylor inside of 5 and would have stopped Paulie in a one sided fight.
I think Floyd is more unlikeable than Boner. There is a hint of tongue-in-cheek about Adrien's schtick and some of it is borderline amusing, Floyd has almost no redeeming qualities, personality wise.
I think Broner equals Floyd as an asshole, with the difference being Broner actually has wit and can be funny as times. His ring ability isn't in the same UNIVERSE as Floyd's, but I do think he has more charisma.
I think the biggest gap between Floyd and Broner is more worth ethic then talent (though talent is certainly part of the equation). Broner wants to be Floyd, but doesn't want to put the work in to do it. I used to also think Broner was much more amusing then Floyd ever was, but he got increasingly more obnoxious as the years went on. Unless the guy has been Andy Kaufman'ing us this whole time. :scratcher:
I think Broner trains pretty hard. Is he AS dedicated as Floyd? No. But Floyd's arguably the biggest gym rat of all time, so it's kinda hard to compare. It's not like stamina is an issue for Broner. In the Taylor fight he fought at a high activity level for 12 rounds and never really tired. I think talent is the BIG difference. Floyd is faster and more athletic than Broner right now, and he's 13 years older. And perhaps even bigger than the gap in raw talent is the gap in ring IQ. So no, I don't think it's a matter of dedication. AB is just nowhere near as gifted as Floyd.
Shit-talk, arrogance, ego, and all that is fine if you're ultra-talented. Broner isn't. He's not an out-and-out bum, but he's not an elite fighter and never will be.
