I expected Pac to go for it. Biggest fight of his career, his whole country behind him, would've made an immense impact on his legacy.. and when it was all said and done, he threw less punches than Floyd did. It's all the more disappointing because he buzzed Floyd, he knew he could hurt him. Don't get me wrong, what Floyd did wrt shutting down Pacquiao's offense was hugely impressive to see. But I think Pac's unwillingness to take risks played a role. Kind of ironic given how before the fight he was talking about how his "reckless" style was what endeared him to fans.

I expected Pac to happily collect his millions and fight a lazy fight ... I expected Floyd to collect his dollars and fight a skittish negative fight... They were scared of each other, IMO

When your success is based in large part upon

    1. unnatural weight gain with unnatural strength and speed retention; and

    2. unnatural stamina,

it's not so difficult to assume that not having the source of these unnatural traits for this fight, could and would hamper Pacquiao's chances.

Manny wasn't scared he simply didn't try very hard after a certain point.

Floyd was happy about this and fought his typical negative fight.

Floyd won the decision, both lost respect.

Both won fortunes, the rest of us lost six years and money

One thing we can all agree on: the manner in which Floyd defeated Pacquiao enhances JMM's legacy. Right, brother clogg?

I always said that it was unbelievable how he moved up and hit harder than in the lower weights. No one in history did that, not Duran, SRR, Trinidad, no one. You move up, you face bigger fighters and your power isn't as effective.

I knew he wouldn't loaded, that's the thing. You could see in all his recent fights he is not the same warrior he once was, who would go balls to the wall and go all out for the win even if it did mean risking punishment/possible KO. It was pretty obvious to me he would take no risks, and it would basically look like an elite sparring session, that everyone paid $100 for, or some people at ringside, over $100,000

But as a Pacquiao fan, I can't deny I'm pretty disappointed that in the "Fight of the century" he couldn't muster some of his old warrior spirit and really go for it.

In some ways I think maybe that's unfair, I mean the GOAT Duran had his fair share of tepid performances age 30+, but you'd have to think in the "Fight of the century", even age 36 he would have gone for it more than Pacquiao did.

You lost 36 minutes of your valuable time.

Could have spent that time listening to Thelonius Monk or Ornette Coleman

    Monk, yes

but Ornette????? I loathe Ornette Coleman

My buddy runs a bar. I watched the fight for free got a big discount on my drinks. Spent $40 on a Saturday night. Fuck the system!

Definitely. Unfortunalty, that effort tarnishes Pacquiao a bit.

Sadly I agree but "well that's just Mayweather what did you expect" doesn't absolve Floyd.

Unfortunately yeah, it does a bit.

But like whiskey said, it takes 2 to tango, or rather 2 to create such a hideously boring, uneventful fight. Floyd's own dad said he was fighting scared.

IMO, it's pretty much always on the guy who's losing to make it a fight.

Floyd fans will want people to believe this was the same as Whitaker-Chavez without the corrupt decision.

Agreed. When one guy flat out runs at times however it's going to leave a bad taste in the mouth of not just the bloodthirsty Tapout shirt wearing guys.

    steve_dave Hard As Fuck

Absolutely. I get why people who don't watch boxing very often are disgusted. And I get why hardcores didn't enjoy either.

I'd be more inclined to blame Pacquiao for the lack of action.

    Hanz Roberto Duran

People who want to see a competitive and exciting fight doesn't mean their craving blood. They just want to see the best effort from fighters. We're entitled to it. Wlad gets flak for holding and fighting safety first. Floyd fought like a bitch.

wald pussy has never fought anyone as dangerous as a one-armed, 36 year old Pacquiao.

Floyd fought like a running p*ssy and the world made it known with their displeasure.

  27. whiskey

I think he could have/should have done more but no way Pacquio was more to blame for a lack of action.

  28. LOK

I'm a Floyd fan and I wish he had stepped it up more too. He could have knocked pacs little bitch ass out but I'm not that surprised

He is a masterful boxer and I like watching. I've already watched it multiple times, it gets better each time.

I always think the second and third time watching a fight is better but this one even more so.

Floyd turns him, counter right, nice jab, hook,
    It's really a schooling,

Did he try to KO pad? No,
Did he run? Not at all

Like I said. runners don't Outland the other guy by almost 2 to 1

  29. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

And yet there wasn't a mark on Pacquiao's face at the end of it. So what was your faggot hero hitting exactly?

  30. LOK

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

Hanzy don't be a dumb bitch

    You know what is funny?

I'm a fan of boxing, I also like mma and any type of combat and actually almost all sports in general. That said you have to have a fucking brain and know what you are watching

Floyd is Bobby Fischer , he's a chess player,

Chess is a boring thing to watch to a lot of people.
If you go to a chess match and expect one player to come out all aggressive and expose himself and lose right away that wouldn't be realistic if you were watching chess masters play

I'm saying it's ridiculous to go into the Floyd-pac fight and think it was gonna be like a toughman fight.
Some people don't like boxing like Floyd does, just like a lot of people said that about pea (who I liked watching too)

That's all fine, then watch toughman or watch whatever you like, but it,s silly to watch Floyd and then say he didn't trade enough LOL
