Since the fight was signed I was thinking that this is a mismatch in the Ginger's favor, but the more I think about it I dunno. If it's past the 6th round, and Ginger hasn't gotten Kirkland outta there, and Kirkland is still pressing forward, might become a compelling fight. Sticking with my original thoughts though. Canelo by stoppage. Circa 5-7.
This fight shouldve been on the undercard of May vs. Pac....exciting...bombs away...short fight...it would help people outlook on boxing... CANELO by KO 4
Bumpin this. I'm hoping that for one night Kirkland can regain the form he against Angulo so we can see a compelling fight. My fear is that after the layoff, and the split with Wolfe that he's gonna be diminished and that this will be one sided. Hope I'm wrong. Here's to hoping the Ginger gets his ass whupped.....
Nobody else is semi-excited for this fight? I mean, neither guy is anything special, but it should be a war while it lasts. "Like I said before", if Kirkland can survive the first 6 rounds he becomes a live dog as we know Ginger doesn't have great stamina.
Semi-excited yes, but nothing more. Obviously it promises to be more crowd pleasing than last week's fight but there needs to be more than that to really be hyped. When you don't know what to expect it really adds to the anticipation. Kirkland can only fight one way, has no nuances to his approach and doesn't have the best chin. That makes him fun to watch and is recipe for a good scrap against someone like Canelo but one we already know the most likely outcome. Also like last week it's not the one we'd prefer.
Yup....Canelo knows that chin is questionable so he will come out for a quick KO...and hopefully/maybe he get caught with something(like he did w/ Cotto's brother) and is wobble and has to survive the round...but eventually Canelo KO's Kirkland.
Mandingo has a surprise for all of yall. He'll display a piston-like Marvin Hagler jab, use lateral movement, and box the ginger senseless.
I think Canelo will beat the shit out of him to be honest. Kirkland really isn't very good. Canelo in 6.
Yeah, people are acting as if Canelo is some fucking killer. I AGREE with the consensus that Canelo's gonna stop him, but I don't totally discount Kirkland's chances. Canelo isn't exactly Joe Louis as a a finisher. What if gets Kirkland in trouble, and Kirkland survives and is still in Canelo's chest come the 7th, 8th round? Things could get very interesting. But Canelo is still the likely choice by KO. Just saying, this isn't a total mismatch. It's not like it's Kilrkland vs GGG.
Yep, Angulo did have his moment in round 1 tho. If Scrubelo gets that, he might get the "stoppage", you now, where he lets his little fat arms go and get the ref jumps in all Bayliss-like, sticking his bum out and waving furiously like a woman on the side of the freeway with a flat tyre, so that Kirkland doesn;t have to take any more "Punishment" from fats.
Fuck Angulo's excuses! Didn't train for Kirkland, had to drive cross country for Cintron, blah, blah, blah. Kirkland was simply too quick for him. That's what it basically came down to. Problem is, that fight was 4 years ago. Kirkland was younger, more active, and had Wolfe in his corner.
Yes, I could DEFINITELY see a BS stoppage in Crapnelo's favor. ESPECIALLY if Kirkland is giving him Hell. Kirkland can be beating the shit outta Ginger, then get momentarily stunned, and the ref will stop it.
Angulo had spent a few years in a detention centre I heard. Not exactly prime training camp for a big fight. I think Canelo will decision this guy, he will huff and puff and win more rounds than he loses.
If Canelo is huffing and puffing late and Kirkland is still standing, I think Ging will be in trouble. If Kirkland's smart, he'll jump in Canelo's chest and immediately begin pounding that meaty body.
These excuses happen to be facts. I'm not trying to defend Angulo, I simply question how much Kirkland's win tells us.
