If Monroe had any power GGG perhaps fights differently. He doesn't so he didn't have to. Let's not pretend like this is some fight that Cotto is looking for. I don;t blame him for wanting Alvarez first, the only problem is that Alvarez probably beats him so the fight never happens anyways.

No man, GGG is too easy to hit and Cotto is like unhittable and GGG neglects the jab and was OUT OF BREATH by the 3rd round.

Exactly. GGG fought sloppy as he could afford to. And Monroe is a big man with fast hands. So it looked like a fight but Monroe won how many rounds? 1, being generous.

GGG is overrated. He got zero chance against Ward if they ever fight.

Your right the fight may never happen. Miguel only got a few fights left and he is in it for Big Paydays.

I do think GGG is a good fighter but he is not what many make him out to be. Just my opinion.

    Gonzales looked amazing again.

GGG didn't try and still won easily.

Monroe put up decent resistance seeing as he fought back pretty well after being knocked down twice in the second round. It's probably mostly down to GGG letting him back in the fight though.

Cotto isn't going to fight him. Canelo might, but not right away.

Yeah, to me it seemed obvious Golovkin decided to exchange with him and as process got hit in the face some. In the first two round Monroe hardly landed anything and I don't believe Golovkin simply forgot how to block in the middle of the fight. He knew Monroe couldn't punch for shit and took risks. That being said, GGG didn't prove anything new here. Monroe was gutsy, but let'snot pretend he is very good.

Hopefully though Cotto's or Canelo's will see it the same way some here did

Canelo and Cotto both get killed by GGG, they won't be fighting him

Neither are big enough nor have enough power (especially Cotto) to beat GGG. Which is why GGG's focus is on those guys.

Question: have there been offers from GGG's camp to solicit bigger fights or are he and his team looking to get the other promoters to finance a "big fight?"

Besides saying he wants a big fight, have there been any monetary offers or are they waiting for guys to come to them?

So you think fighter's focus should be on guys who will definitely beat him?

Hex, I have a bet for you, if Cotto or Canelo beat Gaybox, I'll stop posting, and if Gaybox beats them, you are banished from Fightbeat forever.

    Deal?

Cotto/Canelo have about a 0.0001% chance of beating Golovkin, let alone stopping him.

That fat legged Ginger cunt had the gaul to say he doesn't consider anyone at 160 a challenge, ie Golovkin

Get in the ring and prove it then, you fat piece of Ginger excrement.

GGG, my man. I love that hook he didn't even set up to get the first knockdown. Beautiful timing.

He's been getting hit too much for my liking in the last couple of fights. I realize allot of it is over eagerness to get the KO but a p4p level guy shouldnt be coming out of fights against willie Monroe marked up

Neither Cotto or Canelo have to fight GGG....why would day? What is there to gain?? Cotto can retire tomorrow he already has his spot in the hall of fame secure...What does GGG bring to the table??? Money? fame? NADA....

Canelo because of his youth will eventually fight GGG 12-18 months from now.....

What does he bring? How about a career defining win. Cotto's career defining win is over a guy who had shot knees (Martinez). Canelo's best win is I guess a controversial win over Lara? Either way if either guy beat GGG it would be there biggest win by far. Regardless, they will fight each other, maybe the loser will fight GGG after that.

BTW-What does Cotto gain by fighting Geale?

Cotto already has career defining wins. Canelo and GGG need Cotto more than Cotto needs them. Cotto also has a better shot at beating mayweather than GGG
