What did Gil do to win Round 2?

He did more. It wasn't much. But it was more.

Eddie had to fight a safe fight when his eye closed. Why Melendez didn't try to take advantage of it, who knows. He did nothing to win the fight. He landed the elbow in the first, and that was pretty much it.

If it was the air, than that's on Melendez. He should've trained harder.

I wonder if Eddie was breathing different air?

Melendez dominated the first round. I thought he won the second, but it was close. Alvarez won the 3rd and was the better fighter at the end in spite of the damage he took. I can't really argue with a decision like this. If the fight had continued, Alvarez probably would have won.

 

The only clear round for Gil was the 1st, and the only meaningful thing he landed was the elbow.

This was a pathetic non effort on Melendez's part.

Something tells me that Werdum is going to get rag dolled

 

I'm 0/2 so far in predictions tonight. Hopefully I'll be 0/3. I'm picking Cain to win, but I want Werdum to win.

 

Like I said, if Eddie's eye didn't close, I have to think it would've been a more exciting fight. I'm happy with the win, but disappointed in the fight.

Gun to my head, I guess I'd take Werdum just based on him being more active and looking great. Cain is the man, but coming off of a long layoff, who knows.

I hope Werdum can outstrike Cain. I don't expect him to get a takedown. If the fight goes to the ground, it will be Cain's decision.

 

That could be Werdum's best chance. Like in the Fedor fight.

 

I really expected a louder crowd
