I dunno man, its eating a great white shark and its head is twice the size of the whole shark. I was exaggerating with 700 feet but it does look about 150 feet long.

BTW, James Cameron just came out and said the New Terminator should be the real T3. That it's really good.

Mosasaurus were huge, but in the movie they made it Godzilla-size.

Who cares how big the Mossasaurus really was?

REAL raptors were only the size of a medium sized dog and resembled a bird. Yet didn't stop them from becoming superstars because the movie depicted them as being 8 ft tall and lizard looking.

Yeah they actually based the raptors in the movies off of the Deinonychus. Which are raptors too, but didnt sound as cool.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks were owned by Disney and named after the movie.

The Orlando Magic got its name from Disney's Magic Kingdom, Orlando's #1 tourist attraction.

It thought this was a good movie, way better than Jurassic Park II or III. There was some point in it and the final battle looked cool. Of course, there is little reason for this movie to exist since it is basically the same story as the original and as you guys have said, the original still doesn't look outdated at all

Marvel president Kevin Feige has been cool with Universal taking their record and send an awesome Twitter congratulating them on their feat.

Also maybe the shark ain't 15 feet long. Not all great whites are that big. When I was cage diving most were between 6-10 feet.

Also I hear the phrase box office records were broken almost every second week. It was correct for this one but most of the time it's something like. Best opening day for a movie coming out in January if it's a leap year, when the winter wasn't so cold and no other films did bigger numbers... :eek:ld:

That wasn't a great white shark. Didn't you hear the one guy in the movie, they brought back and breed a bunch of Megaladon's just to find that thing.

Funny! Is Chris Pratt a superstar now? 2 huge Box Office movies under his belt as the lead (3 if you count the Lego movie).

I watched him for years on Parks & Rec and always liked him, but figured he's just some goofy dude who might have some supporting roles in Apatow comedies in his future.

Yeah he is a superstar now for sure. Guardians sealed it. He is curently filming the remake of Magnificent Seven with Denzel and Hawk, directed by Fuqua

Agree with this rating....better than 2 and 3...but nothing will touch the 1st movie.

Yeah that was a WTF moment...at the end there I thought they were going to release some bigger, faster, stronger hybrid of the hybrid...but NO.

I'm not a big Fuqua fan, but it will probably do ok.

No JP film could every live up to first one in our minds...simply because the 1st was original in concept. Objectively though...this film was JUST AS GOOD. What it may lacked in story and acting, vis a vis the original it made up for in action and drama.

I love fantasy type films as much as the next guy whether they're superheo (rarely), sci fi or whatever but there's got to be enough grounding in reality for me to suspend disbelief and go with it. I dont think i'll go and see this in the cinema, i might pick it up in 5 years on second hand dvd out of curiosity or something

I think when you have enough people telling you to watch it and it smashing box office records, you swallow your pride and go watch the shit before it becomes outdated

You've always been a maverick, non-conformist anti-establishment type of guy and takes pride in going against the grain and staying in his Glascow working class "I hate cars and wish everyone rode bikes" bubble. No surprise you don't want to see $500M first weekend film like everyone else does.

Yeah, I like him too, and had just noticed last week he had that small role in Money Ball as the guy they took a chance on to play first base and who hit the home run to save their win streak.

It hadnt really occurred to me that going or not going to a film you didnt think looked very good was any kind of statement at all never mind one a person would take pride in.
