The thing is though Billeh, whilst you're right in that Lineker did bag a load of goals against the flotsam of international football, the point is he also hit the net against the big boys too, when it counted. Rooney hasn't. Uruguay maybe, but that's it. It's what sets apart the likes of Charlton, Lineker, Shearer etc from him.

 

QPR are signing Mackie, apparently. A loan or yearly deal, I do not know.

Has anybody watching the Copa matches? Yesterday Venezuela who has never qualified for a WC beat Colombia 1-0 and Brazil needed a stoppage time goal to beat Peru. Today Bolivia is leading Ecuador 3-1 in the 53rd minute.

Being I haven't see any of the games I can't tell if the underdogs are playing good football or the more established teams just haven't got into form yet.
