I saw Jennings for the first time against Mike Perez and thought he was a scrub. The fact that wald pussy had a close fight with him says more about wald pussy than Jennings.

    Magical thinking 101.

Decides a guy is a scrub. Scrub gives the pfp #2 a good fight. pfp #2 is now also a scrub.

Scrubs. All scrubs. Cos he decided they were. Magical Thinking.

They're not, but they're clearly better than Jennings, Leapai, and Pulev, and Wach, and Piñata, and Thompson, and Mormeck

Jennings is not a good fighter. Him and Mike Perez would barely be good enough journeymen in a good HW era.

No, they aren't better than Jennings, Byrd, Brock, Haye, Chagaev, Ibragimov......and others besides.

You are picking what you like and leaving what you don't like.

Matthyyse beats Peterson. Peterson exposes Garcia. Garcia exposes Matthysse and then Peterson beats Khan and Bradley beats Peterson.

They must ALL be great fighters

"I saw a scrub give Wlad a hard fight. Wlad's a scrub too, and also...........I decided the scrub was a scrub that time I saw him win a fight".

    Fucking amazing logic.

Jennings beats a scrub. Jennings is now too a scrub. Then Jennings loses a fight and the guy that beat him is also a scrub.

Its like measles. Anyone who touches a scrub becomes a scrub becomes a scrub becomes a scrub.

    He said "Good" and "Khan".

Who did Leon Spinks beat :dunno: Apart from Ali...but before he beat Ali who did he beat, he must be a scrub.

Who did Pete Rademacher beat, apart from nobody. Patterson must be a scrub.

Who did George Foreman beat, to get that Frazier title fight, scrub. All scrubs.

Who did Buster Douglas beat....to get that Tyson shot...Tyson a scrub now too.

All scrubs....I know because before they turned in great performances, they hadn't beaten anyone, according to the instructions on the inside of my "MWS EDITION SCRUB KIT, HOW TO APPLY".

Who did Mike Weaver fight before he fought Holmes....:dunno:

Yet his big losing effort meant Weaver and Holmes both came out of as

    1. Scrubs.

    2. Commendable fighters.

Yes, its's #1, because under the MWS Rule: "He who hath been scrub or unproven shall turn in good losing performance and Champion also be scrub".

Scrubs. All scrubs. Everyone is a scrub. Except Amir Khan.

Who gets more credit here, Jennings for going 12 with WK and winning some rounds, or Peterson for putting a pellet up his arse and grinding out a decision win over a man stretched inside 50 seconds by the admittedly awesome Breidis Prescott {:atu:} :dunno:

So Jennings is better than Peterdude based on scrubbing out an unimpressive win against a fat little Irish scrub, then giving wald pussy a tough fight

If Lucas and wald pussy were the same size, Lucas would KO wald pussy too.

It goes to show how fucking horrendous the HW division is, that a guy like Peterdude, no more than average at world level, is better than 95% of wald pussy's opponents

Wlad is a weird one for me. In a way I feel for him because:

    A) Lewis retired when he did

    B) Ibeabuchi went nuts

    C) Vitali is his brother

Any of those wins would have gotten him a heap load more credit IMO.

I get where Irish is coming from because the heavyweight division is so utterly awful, and has been for so long, that we as boxing fans have developed an (understandably) high level of cynicism towards any new guy who comes through, especially when you consider we all grew up in an era when the division was loaded and shit hot. Because of the dearth of talent, the only barometer any new heavyweight prospect has to test his skills against is, well, Wlad. If Wlad pummells the guy then the new guy was another modern heavyweight bum and never anything to begin with, if Wlad loses then it proves he was the best lump of shit in a shit heavyweight era. He can't really win and he doesn't have the option of leaving his weight division to seek new challenges. He's stuck there.

Now, that's not to say Wlad is blameless in all this. I'm sorry Irish but the guy DOES fight like a bitch a lot of the time and holds WAY too much. Now I know that you're going to point out other heavyweights who held but that is missing the point. He is not great to watch, if everybody is saying it then they have a point. This frustrates the hell out of me because he is one of the best offensive talents I've ever seen at heavyweight. He was great to watch when he was coming through and to be honest with you the guys he was destroying back then (Barrett, Bostice etc) weren't a whole lot worse than the guys he's fighting now. If Wlad had a destroyer mentality and "took out the rubbish" in the same fashion as Tyson did back in the day, I don't think people would have much room for complaint. The way he prolongs fights and makes it such a shitty spectacle when it doesn't need to be is what infuriates people.

says who? It's whatever any asshole says it is... I've heard 100 different definitions for "P4P"... It's fucking stupid

You might as well have a discussion about "Top 10 Coolest Heavyweights In The World"...

Even among all the subjectivity I think most boxing fans can come to a fairly close agreement as to who the top 10 P4P fighters in the world at a given time are. For example if you polled a thousand knowledgeable fight fans and asked for their list, probably 60-70 percent the same names would be on each of them.

Where it gets really ridiculous is ranking them in a particular order. Probably less than 5% of the same fans polled would be in total agreement from 1 through 10.

That's what I mean... And when you start getting into "PFFFFFT what would Andre Ward do if he got hit by a Ricardo Lopez left hook??? HUH??! HUH?!!" it's just preposterous... Heavyweights throw the entire thing off completely because there's such a wide array of heights and weights... It all becomes meaningless when you try to make a direct comparison to the other weight classes... I've even seen people try and switch it up like "well, I figure Thomas Hearns would be 6'8 as a heavyweight or wald pussy would be 5'11 at featherweight"... WHAT??? That's fantasyland bullshit

Yeah that's total fantasy land garbage. I also don't think heavyweights should be on P4P lists even if they have skills that normally only smaller fighters possess.

if you have a heavyweight who is routinely beating legit opponents while giving up 20 or 30 pounds then he belongs on the list. problem is even if such a fighter came along today he wouldnt have any legit opponents to defeat

By the way, the Pulev fight didn't seem very prolonged.

I tend not to put heavyweights on p4p lists for that very reason, it's a unique division and a fighter can't do anything about his size.
