There's a better chance of Kovalev battering Ward than GGG doing so. Ward's size edge on Golov is significant.
It is, but the more I think about it, the more I think Gaybox wins, size difference n'all, relative unproven-ness n'all. It's been obvious since the Kessler fight Ward is legit, but my gut feeling all along is he's not quite as good as advertised. I think Gaybox and Kovalev both beat him.
Yeah, the comebacking Ward doesn't seem like the all-out aggressive Mike Tyson clone who destroys his opponents in two rounds that he was before
LOL. Yeah, he looks the same. He's in his early 30s and his style isn't super dependent on physical attributes, so he's still has a few years of his prime left. I've just been saying for several years now that Kov has the style to beat Ward, and I stick by it. Ward beating Kov would impress me more than Ward beating Golov, although maybe not to the mainstream because Golov is the bigger name.
I was still impressed with Ward's performance. The way he controlled the fight, selected his punches. He dismantled Smith. Only thing I wanted to see was more body shots throughout.
True, but he still looked good. At one point though Smith caught Ward clean and it looked like he hurt him.
Smith was a decent fighter before Chunky ruined him in his NINTH PRO FIGHT (doing a better job of it than Ward too).
