I haven't seen the fight, but it looks like she beat the utter shit out of her. And she looked like an absolute beast against little Latin Grandma Carla. Best standup I've seen from a female MMA fighter. Accurate, and way more snappy than most girls.
How does she have 5 decisions? I think I watched a sequence from her on youtube and she was busy defending takedowns. Is she much better than before now?
As her TDD gets better you will see more ko's. I think before she was too concentrated on TDD. The better she gets at it the more chances she will take. Just like in the Penne fight. She was throwing a bunch of kicks whereas she did not throw a single one in the Esparza fight.
What I love about Joanna is she fucking punishes you for trying to get her down. Sprawl - elbows. Clinch - elbows. Bitches don't know what to do.
Just watched the fight, it was a brutal beating indeed. Joanna is sharp and fast and vicious. Her punches have the speed and snap of a male boxer, worlds apart from most female fighters whose punches are just so slow and floppy in comparison, without that snap and natural explosion of energy that men have. Obviously the man power isn't there, but the speed and snap is enough. Her punches looked 3 or 4 times faster than Jessica's. I agree with Royness, it is really surprising 50% of her fights are decisions.
Sad thing is that Joanna already whipped the best wrestler in the division when she battered Esparza. If you can't take her down, stay out of the cage because you can't compete with her standing.
