For example: the spread of terrible diseases causing widespread death and harm, is obviously bad...but in the long term it may be doing teh planet some good. Still anyone who deliberately causes disease and holocaust, claiming they're doing it for the good of the planet, shouldn't be awarded a Nobel prize...if you know what I'm saying.

My theory is that every GREAT civilization was build on a foundation of solid principles. Then corruption set in, people started to abuse the foundation...causing a backlash which created the liberal mentality...which went to far (as liberalism is destined to always do) which lead to implosion and destruction of that great civilization. I can't prove it yet, but I bet this is what happened to Rome, Greece, Egypt, babylon etc etc etc and what's going to happen to the West (UNITED STATES in particular).
