ALDO OUT !!!!! Mendes in.

I kind of disagree Aldo is one of the P4P greats. This is my point really. If he was, he should be an overwhelming favourite to batter Conor, who is going to allow Aldo to fight his fight, and not wrestle/smother him etc. If Aldo really was the best fighter in the world, this should be a showcase fight against the inexperienced, relatively unproven Conor.

The fact that bookies and fans have this fight as even money just shows that Aldo isn't P4P#1 or even close to it. P4P is supposed to be who beats who, not all time accomplishments. Otherwise Roy Jones would still be up there ;)

 

Sure, that all makes sense. It does also prove that Aldo really should not be ranked at number 1 P4P now.

He's looked nowhere NEAR P4P #1 since coming to the UFC.

 

Roy Jones was up there until he got knocked the fuck out by Tarver. Aldo hasn't lost in 10 years. I don't consider him the best P4P fighter today, but he has to be close based on his accomplishments. I'd put Jon Jones and Chris Weidman ahead of him in the P4P list today. No one else right now.

 

If this is a real injury, I wouldn't blame him for pulling out. I got a bruised rib playing football in high school. It hurt just to breathe for a few weeks.

I want Conor to be champion, but I'm not sure if I'd pick him over Mendes on short notice.

 

I hope Conner totally dominates Aldo's bitch ass

 

Conor seems confident tonight. He will be there on July 11, and he will win no matter who they put in front of him.

I hope Machida retires too. Damn it. He didn't bore me to death tonight. Seeing one of your favorite fighters being defeated is heartbreaking.

 

Machida was a top contender until just recently. I'd love to see him in Bellator, but he should just retire and stop taking damage. Maybe be a coach for younger guys learning karate. He knows what it takes to stop takedowns and make his unique style of striking work in MMA.

I don't understand what happened to Machida. He looked fucking good crushing the overmatched Dollaway, then looked kind of done against Rockhold.

 

I'm just playing LOK at his own game, he likes to do exactly what I just did.

And in general I wouldn't say it bothers me as such, I just find it weird, I can't imagine blatantly misspelling simple names. Seems like something a kid would do rather than an adult.

In this instance, spelling it with 2 n's (but no e) is forgivable, as that's the more common spelling.
