Not really surprising it bombed. 8/10 times a black movie will bomb unless its a mindless comedy with Kevin Hart acting like a fuckin idiot. Dope is a solid movie. Does a very good job of incorporating a social message into a fun, and entertaining comedy.
Dude you know how many black people can care less about dinosaurs and cartoons? Not to mention blacks tend to be drawn towards these types of films. I'm pretty sure even a little bit of promotion would have helped, but I guess it's a good idea they didn't even try because that's usually a great recipe for success.
No. Black people are just like everyone else. And they went and saw dinosaurs and cartoons. DOPE was promoted heavily on black television. It didnt do shit.
This was good. Had some similarities to The Wood, even brought back one of the minor characters from it. The model Chanel Iman doesn't have much up top but has a great ass. 7.5/10
