Michael Spinks vs 40+ George Foreman at Heavyweight

Discussion in 'Mythical Matchups' started by Destruction and Mayhem, Jun 28, 2015.

  1. Spinks beat old Larry Homes twice, and then demolished lumbering giants Stefan Tangstad and Gerry Cooney. How does he fair against old fat Foreman at the peak of his second career?

Will George eventually knock him out the way he did Moorer or does Spinks outhustle him and win the decision?

    I think the latter.

Wait, which Foreman? Old Foreman who fought Holyfield, for example, was to me clearly better than the guy who achieved the miracle against Moorer

  3. The BEST Foreman of his 90s comeback...so yes the one who fought Holyfield if you prefer.

I think Spinks would win a stink decision

The one who fought Holy would stop Spinks late.

Spinks would get hurt bad at some point, I think... the question is can he recover... If he can and stay on the move, he can win

Spinks was a retard. George would walk him down.

Spinks a retard? Da fuck? Spinks was herky jerky, and awkward as Hell, but his ring IQ was extremely high. Foreman wins on size, strength, and power. P4P, Spinks was the better fighter.

Spinks was ringside for Klitschko/Johnson, IMO

Based on the Spinks-Cooney fight i think Foreman walks him down pretty quickly. If I were to stick a 5er on a round it'd be round 2.

The best 90s Foreman was probably 1988/89 Foreman btw

  13. Fair enough. I'm including any version of Foreman in his second career.
