Morey would be all over him if the Knicks decided to trade him. There are some teams that would love to get a name like him aboard, like the Hornets.
Lakers passed because of spacing issues, both would have clogged the paint. However, word out of Randle's camp is that his mid-range game is remarkably improved, so if that's the case you take Okafor anyway
Randle's had a Viable Mid-Range Game Since his Last Couple Years of High School...Upon Arriving @ Kentucky, they DIDN'T Need a Stretch 4, so Randle Got his Big Man Grooooove On... He's Always Had Pretty Good Shooting Touch and Handles Though...BETTER than Blake Griffin's was, @ the Same Age... REED:hammert:
To Date, there's MORE Evidence Jahlil Okafor will Be a Star, than there is in D'Angelo Russell's Case...Okafor will Be an Elite Level SCORER in the Post for the Next 12-15 Years... REED:hammert:
i dont know about russell. only seen him play one shitty game in the tournament. ive seen okafor enough to form the opinion that he wont ever be a star. the NBA is a guard oriented league as well, so that also could have something to do with why they went with russell.
Sure, it's a Guard Dominated League, but Bigs that Can SCORE and Demand DOUBLE TEAMS in the Post Never Go Out of Style... Okafor has the TOUCH, the FOOTWORK and an Array of MOVES w/his Back to the Basket...Scouts were Saying a Big Hasn't Come into the League THIS Polished (Offensively) Since a Young Tim Duncan...Granted, Duncan Played BOTH Ends of the Floor, Which Okafor Still Needs to Work On, but REED Would Be Shocked if Okafor Didn't Average 18-20 from Day 1.... Especially on that Shitty Sixers Squad... This Could End Up Being 1 of the More TALENTED Draft Classes, but REED Thinks Jahlil Okafor will Prove to Be the CLASS of this Class... REED:hammert:
towns has proven already that he is a much better post player than okafor. Id be shocked if Okafor averages 20 points for more than 2 or 3 seasons of his career. let alone right away. we shall see.
Towns LACKS Okafor's Post Moves AND Footwork... There's a "Softness" to Towns that Lies Under the Surface...REED Questions How Much "Fight" he Has In Him... REED:hammert:
Don't see any softness in towns. Okafor is bigger now. That's about the only edge he has. Towns got better as the season went on. Where as okafor disappeared for long stretches in the tournament and was lucky Winslow and jones carried him. I don't see any great post moves from okafor. He's more comfortable facing up
REED has to Question just How MUCH You've Seen of Okafor Then...Practically EVERY Scouting Report of his HIGHLIGHTS his "Excellent Footwork" or How he's "One of the More Advanced Post Scorers We've Seen in a Long Time"... http://www.nbadraft.net/players/jahlil-okafor REED:hammert:
its interesting. youre one of the first people Ive heard say they prefer okafor to towns. going into the college season okafor was pretty much the consensus guy. I saw him in the mcDonalds game, and one other high school all star game and i kept waiting to see this special player everyone had been talking about. Towns impressed me more back then although he was more raw. I dont claim to have seen all 30 or 40 of his college games. i watched duke a few times in the regular season, and then in the tournament. what i see from okafor is a strong kid with good fundamentals offensively. i didnt see him making many back to the basket moves in the post and scoring with turn around jump shots or jump hooks. he would get the ball on the block and face up the defender. that was where he had success. i guess we will see how his actual post game develops and/or whether he will be able to beat NBA bigs who are his same size yet more athletic with those type of face up moves.
Aldridge was turned off by the lakers front office talk. Apparently all they did was pitched him on the LA lifestyle and gave him a poor impression basketball-wise.
Pierce signed with Clippers, 3 years 10 mil. Not bad. Gives them a legit clutch veteran, much needed leadership. Reunites him with Doc.
Yep, it's CLEAR Kobe Isn't REALISTIC about How Much GAME he Has Left... @ this Stage of their Careers, Guys like LaMarcus Aldridge, Dwight Howard & DeMarcus Cousins are BETTER than Kobe Bryant...Nonetheless, he's ALREADY Run Off Howard & Now Aldridge, w/GRANDIOSE Notions of them Playing 2nd Fiddle to Him... No Reason to Think Kobe will Alter his Brand of Bullshit, in Regards to Cousins, Either...@ this Point, the Lakers are Hoping and PRAYING Dude Retires After this Upcoming Season...Cause Even Young Bucks Like Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell Will Willingly Ride Kobe's Coattails for Just Soooooooooooooooooo Looooooooooong... REED:hammert:
Also, they let Kobe open his mouth saying he was going to make him Gasol. Kobe needs to stay out of these meetings, he has serious social skill problems. Aldridge let the Lakers know days ago they needed to have a plan for a Center, not one peep was said about personnel at all. And they dropped the ball with Love. Love's agent told the Lakers last week, he'll sign with them. They set up a meeting with Love AFTER Aldridge. Love was either going to L.A. or signing a big ass contract with Cavs. Love didn't like being the backup plan, and his only other real suitor was the Knicks, he denied them a visit. Love's stock took a huge hit this last year. Either L.A.'s front office is absolute shit, or they didn't want Love at all. I sort of got the Love thing wrong, but I didn't expect the Lakers to fuck this up so bad. I guess I should expect it more, they can't get anyone to come play there. Teams spending like a mofo, yes the cap is increasing, but DeMarre Carroll 4 years 60 million?? Shumpert 10 million per?? Amir Johnson 2 years 24 million? Lopez 3 years 60 million?? Some good signings... Pierce 3 yrs 10 mill. B. Wright 3 yrs 18 mill Asik 5 yrs 60 mill
The two teams I said would be blowing it up were SacTown and Portland. Portland is about to lose Aldridge, traded Batum, and will probably lose Matthews. SacTown is blowing it up right now.
