    Yeah i know, but still. IMO the minute the Aldo/McGregger fight was announced, The Irishman became the #1 contender. And considering it was The Irishman that basically made this an interim title by threatening not to fight, i TINK he could have came out second if he wanted.

    Interesting.

    Not sure if genuine improvement from Conor in terms of scrambling or if Mendes was just gassed due to limited preparation, but either way, will make for a great superfight.

    Mendes also had a 2 week camp. How good could he possibly look?

    The last person I saw fight on a 2 week camp in such a big fight was Koscheck vs Thiago Alves and he got absolutely whitewashed. It was the worst performance of his career and I highly doubt he wouldve even lost period to Thiago if he was on a full camp.

    That being said, Conor did what he needed to do and Aldo won't pose those types of problems anyway.

    I said that earlier. But The Irishman was also training for only two weeks for Mendes. Yeah he had a full camp, but Mendes didnt have to cut weight, he was already ready. If The Irishman had more time training for Mendes, i see this a lot more one sided
