:: Hardly surprising to me...... Mexicans know they got lucky with the Meldrick Taylor thing, they want nothing to do with slick fast black fighters after that. Same with Oscar vs Pea Whittaker. They struggle.
Somebody called Callum H is trying to add me on facebook, what u know about that bro :dunno: Should I add...is I SAFE :dunno: PS regarding yesterdays fights....man I was so fucked when I got in last night, was down in Roehampton labouring....it was so fucking hot and next week is even worse. I barely had enough energy to cause some fights fightbeat and then retire to bed. ::
He better not show up at the house in his Chile shirt and try and stick his finger up by bot-bot when I am wearing my old blue jim-jams, is all. :nono: I will tell him you vouched for him, should give him major Kudos out on the street in Houslow Central like.
As of now, looks like the fight is not happening. Rios still hasn't signed and Robert Garcia says they are not "satisfied" with the terms. Fuck it, just make Brook vs Bradley, I say.
Provo took so much punishment against Matty Ice, that I'd have to favor Rios simply on the basis of his face holding up better.
Something that bothers me. Is Brandon Rios the champion here? Or is HE not the one receiving a title shot at a weight he hasn't done shit at? His team is trying to call the shots here like he is a super star or something. Unbelievable. Take the fucking fight, it's a title shot.
i think rios size would be a key factor vs provodnikov at welterweight. provodnikov is better at 140, where as he'll be facing a 160-165lb rios who will be able to absorb his shots. why should rios fight brook? its a bad fight for him and everyone knows it. brook needs to step up and fight some live bodies
Well if he's campaigning at welterweight and he's offered a title shot.... I mean, if he's not gonna take the fight that is offered to him, then why fight at 147? :dunno:
why fight a harder fight for the same amount of money or less as he could get to fight provodnikov or bradley, who he wouldnt have to travel overseas to fight.
Id prefer provodnikov but him vs bradley is decent action at the stubhub. if bradley doesnt move too much
Not that those aren't good fights, but he'd probably be favored to LOSE against either of Bradley or Provo, so why not take a fight that's for a BELT. If he loses, then he was supposed to lose and that's that. But if he WINS, then he becomes a bigger name, and probably even puts himself in the MAYWEATHER sweepstakes. Whereas if he loses to either Bradley or Provo, then it decreases his chances of getting fights with the elite of the division.
Bradley better move. He'd be stupid to stand and trade with Rios. One thing I'll give Rios credit for - he's a much better finisher than Provo is.
Easy Fight to Predict... Rios Has Become Slightly BELOW Average These Days...His Defense is Antonio Margarita BAD...He's Also Endured Some BEATINGS Along the Way, While Admittedly Remaining Competitive More Times than Not... Still, Brook is FRESHER, BIGGER, More Naturally TALENTED AND he Doesn't Eat 3 to Land 1, as Rios Customarily Does...If Brook can HURT Rios, he Eventually STOPS him...The More Likely Scenario is Brook by VERY Wide Decision...8-4 Brook is the BEST Case Scenario for Rios, Here... Styles Makes Fights...This Won't Be a Terribly Entertaining OR Competitive 1... REED:hammert:
Brandon Rios's story telling videos on youtube are hilarious. Especially the one about Victor Diaz getting his ass kicked in street fights two days in a row. I'd have to favor Brook in this fight but it wouldn't be a huge upset if Rios pulled it off.
Not true. I think Brook really is garbage and have said so repeatedly. The recent hype, based off a close win over Porter (who is average) and Gavin (who is an absolute fucking bellend) is just weird. This is a guy who got an absolute home-town gift against Carson Jones. I must have watched 80% of this chump's fights. He is average, at best. MTF
That makes 2 of us then MTF. I honestly don't get it either, I see it the same way - a close win over a very average fighter in Porter, and suddenly this guy is a beast? ::
Who the fuck was that dude Smell got to beat up on before Gavin? He was called Jo Jo or something? I had literally NEVER heard of that guy before he agreed to get bashed by Gay Brook :dunno: Hearn pulled off a blinder digging that bloke up from Christ knows where. MTF
He's a classic Hearn/Werren British fighter. Amassed an impressive looking unbeaten record which holds no scrutiny when you actually look at the names and records of the scrubs on it, got a gift or two along the way, eventually somehow gets a decent ranking by some alphabet body and then he gets thrown into the lion's den. I'll give Brook this - I expected him to lose to Porter (even though Porter is average) but, unlike most who have followed the same protected path, he got a close but deserved win. Then it's back to the UK, talking about fighting big names and real challenges but actually milking the title by fighting blokes called Jo Jo and actual cokeheads, looking a million dollars in the process but proving absolutely fuck all because Hearn knows, for a fact, that Brook isn't actually much good at all. It's the classic Hearn/Werren way. Been done over and over for decades. Any British boxing fan can name dozens of fighters who've gone down the same road. It's what makes guys like Froch stand out like a massive sore thumb because he absolutely refused to go the same route. MTF
Bang on, I feel exactly the same way. He is a very typical British fighter. A guy with a modicum of ability who then gets hyped to Kingdom Cum, and simultaneously protected shitless. He then steps up for his big "world class" test, and win or lose, goes back to Britain fighting scrubs again, banging on about how good he is :: And like a true overhyped Ingle scrub, I also expected him to lose to Porter. So yeah, I give him credit for (unimpressively) passing that test at least, and being more solid than your average Ingle fighter. Can you believe someone on here (Puerto I think) recently said he'd beat Pacquiao ::
Rios by late KO.....or Brook might be lucky to survive to 12 and get a decision....in which case those praising him...will start calling him overated...garbage...Khan would kill him....he's not that good, etc..etc...after sucking his pipi for the last 6-12 months..
Blasphemy. Never said that :atu: All jokes aside, i wouldn't consider myself a Brook fan, per say. But he is one of the top 5 welterweights today. It's not like we have a great era today. None of the current younger guys would probably cut it in the 90s era of 147 let alone the 80s era. But it for today's standards, Brook is one of the better guys in the division .
