Not sure if this has been done recently. I think it's a fascinating matchup.

There is a scenario in which Hearns outboxes him and wins a decision, but I think Eubank will get him eventually and knock him out.

    Eubank KO 8

    Of course you think that.....

Hearns would beat Eubank going away. Terrible style matchup for Eubank, and Hearns was simply a higher caliber fighter.

Hearns ... Eubank might stun him once or twice with an unorthodox shot but he'd be outboxed and made a bit gunshy by Tommy's power

    Possibly.

I can't get Hearns-Barkley out of my head though. Hearns was vulnerable. Eubank had HEART! He always wanted to win. If Hearns was outboxing him Eubank would gamble to take him out. That was his mentality. He's underrated in that regard. Hearns got sloppy occasionally simply because he tended to be aggressive.

Hearns has teh tools to win, but he'd get knocked out eventually.

Eubank was good, he had a habit of letting rounds go though, which is my pet peeve with any boxer. Hearns for me.

Eubank is my boy, but I'd have to pick Hearns. Too good and too skilled, with epic reach and speed.

Slice is correct. Eubank had elite ability, but often wouldn't really fulfil that ability, preferring to prance around rather than fight.

Barkley landed the most unfathomable, one-in-a-million shot of his life in that fight... He also took a terrible beating... Eubank wouldn't be in that position, he wouldn't be fighting in a way that guaranteed he'd absorb non-stop abuse for three rounds

Eubank does have a scrappy quality that can be key against Hearns.

Hearns would badly hurt Eubank and make him gun sky. Tommy's jab would also keep Eubank off balance all night.

Eubank has an outside puncher's chance, but it's not a very good one.

    Hearns would have schooled him.

Benn hurt Eubank. Watson BADLY hurt Eubank and was about to stop him prior to Eubank's hailmary uppercut.

Eubank was not Hagler, and Hearns even hurt Hagler.

    He'd hurt Eubank.

    Eubank is INSANELY overrated.

Benn hurt Eubank but not badly. I take issue with "badly hurt", which implies that Eubank would be in serious trouble. I agree that Hearns would hurt Eubank at some point, but not to the point where Eubank would be close to being stopped and then gunshy. Watson hurt Eubank late, but that was more to do with Eubank being exhausted rather than the power of the punch (like Ali-Foreman).

Eubanks had a very good chin. I can't really see why anyone would think otherwise. Benn hit him with all sorts and never looked remotely like stopping him. Benn at 160 hit harder than Tommy Hearns at 160 IMO. Watson did drop him but D&M is correct - Eubanks near enough punched himself out rather than being hit by a big shot and nonetheless he was up at about 3. The only other bloke who dropped him was Calzaghe, who caught him cold in the first round but again, Eubanks was never in danger of being stopped and was up halfway through the count. Carl Thompson hit him with the whole kitchen at Cruiser and couldn't stop Eubanks.

Not sure who I'd pick here. Tommy is obviously P4P much better but 160 was hardly his best weight. What was his best win there - Doug De Witt? Roldan?

He was born Christopher Eubanks. He was called 'Eubanks' in all of his early fights, in newspapers and in UK TV broadcasts. His opponents referred to him as 'Eubanks'. I was about ten at the time he fought Benn the first time so I came to know him as Eubanks and that's what I still call him, regardless of his decision to drop the 's' off the end of his actual birth name.

    From Wikipedia (I know):

'Christopher Livingstone Eubanks (born on 8 August 1966), best known as Chris Eubank, is a British former boxer who held world titles at middleweight and super middleweight...'

    In other words, I'm right.

He still calls the Rockets center akeem olajuwon. Yet he refers to wrestler akeem the African dream as one man gang. Who knows what he says when watching Matt Franklin fight dwight braxton and Eddie Gregory
