Elite: "a select part of a group that is superior to the rest in terms of ability or qualities"

"A-list, aristocracy, best, choice, corps d'elite, cream, crème de la crème, elect, fat, flower, illuminati, pick, pink, pride, priesthood, prime, royalty, upper crust, cream of the crop, Hall of Fame"

Even the Definition ITSELF Leaves the Word "Elite" Open to Interpretation...

What "Group" EXACTLY are we Talking about???...Lb for Lb???...Heavyweights???...Diaperweights???...European Fighters???...Mexican Fighters???...Featherfisted Fighters???...Chinny Fighters???..."Elite" in WHAT Group???...

Soooooo, it Seems YOU'VE Been the 1 Complicating the Matter All Aloooooooong, Brother Sly..."Elite" is the Upper Crust of a Particular GROUP, but there Can Be a Million Different VARIANCES to that Group, or Even a Million GROUPS Themselves...

Yeah and even if you have the group the definition is still unclear, since there is no fixed percentile of people mentioned when talking about the elite part of the group. Sly just has his own understanding which is about as good as anyone else's.

Well...you can answer that yourself. When you asked teh question of Tito, which group were you referring to?

Not to talk on behalf of anyone, but I think Reed's point there was that it would have to be a weird definition of elite if Tito was NOT included (which is what MWS said)

Even if that were the case, why ask the question if you don`t have a clear definition of what it means to you who are asking the question? If I were trying to argue for a certain fighter being elite or whatever...I would have that concept clearly defined before asking the question....otherwise the question is pointless.

In Regards to Tito, he was an "Elite" Fighter for his Era, Irregardless of Weight Class...He was EASILY 1 of THE 10 Best Fighters of his Era, Lb for Lb...

& REED's Line of Questioning, in Regards to Tito's "Elite" Status was Such...

Well...that`s EXACTLY what I thought from the context of your post and as such....why that was my definition for the word...and why I thought it should have been obvious to everyone what elite was referring to in the context of these topics. So why did we spend all this time spinning this argument? lol at fightbeat.

And Murray isn't top 10 in this generation of tennis players?

Tennis is a different sport with and as such the rules are different. It's not about top 10 of his generation in that game..it's top 2 or 3. The Scottish cunt is not with the elite of tennis. Sorry.

So elite in tennis means something different as in boxing?

Murray is obviously an 'elite' tennis player. He's a multiple grand-slam champ with countless other finals reached, an Olympic gold medalist and a ton of other significant wins. He's been ranked in the top 4 (and often 3 and 2) in the world for about a decade  However, D&M doesn't like 'the Scottish Cunt', ergo his definition of elite will shift accordingly to ensure he is not accommodated within it.

    lol

Elite in tennis has a stricter definition. To be "elite" in that sport you have to be at an equivalent level of an Ali or Duran or Robinson. It's a gentleman's sport with a very exclusive club. The Scottish cunt doesn't belong in there! lol

I have to admit, Sly's logic is flawless. We're all being a bit stupid here regarding the term "elite" in different sports.
