Most overrated CURRENT actor?

Who is it?

 

It's a tough question. The pool is pretty deep nowadays and anybody even slightly subpar gets ragged on incessently now.

A part of me likes both Ben Affleck and George Clooney, but I also see them constantly (especially Clooney) getting accolades that should rightfully be going to other actors. Of course Affleck went through a spell where everybody hated him, but in his recent Renaissance I think he's been raised to a bit of a higher pedestal acting wise, then is necessary. He's still pretty average, he's just picking better material now.

Dicaprio

 

No...I hated on Dicaprio but he has proven to be an excellent actor....

 

Channing Tatum

 

If anything he's under-rated. He's pretty much exceeded all expectations of what people thought he was capable of. I figured he was the next Paul Walker. He's much, much better then that. I thought he was excellent in "Foxcatcher".

 

After his performance in Foxcatcher, I don't think Tatum is any longer below average. He's now average/mediocre, but he's not a terrible actor anymore. There's worse actors than Tatum, like that God forsaken Robert Pattinson guy from The Twilight movies.

Much better than Paul Walker. The narrative on Paul Walker is so much different now cause he's dead, but fuck it! He was a HORRIBLE fucking actor!

 

I thought Tatum became overrated after Foxcatcher. He didn't completely suck as many expected, and thus many started to think he is actually a good actor which he isn't

 

Ewan mcGregor doesn't catch enough flack for his incredible shiteness.

I had this conversation with a couple of friends the other night - does anyone think he's a great actor? I've never spoken to them. Maybe Boss but we already know Boss is crazy.

Anyone else think that Bradley Cooper, while pretty good, gets overrated quite a bit?

Maybe I'm still thinking of him somehow getting a Best Actor nomination for American Sniper over Jake Gyleenhaal for Nightcrawler.

 

Yes, I think Cooper is overrated. Good actor, but overrated. He was excellent in Silver Linings Playbook, but just mehhhh in American Sniper.
