UFC 190 - ROUSEY vs. CORREIA

Rousey is not exactly bone-dry at 135. She should gain weight to fight a chemically-enhanced opponent? If Cyborg wants to fight the champ, she should make weight.

 

Rousey wouldn't employ the same game plan against Cyborg. She knew she had nothing to fear from Correia and she has impressive power. Her defense leaves something to be desired of course but. Cyborg would be a test. Tate with her improved striking not so much. I ain't even sure, she would win a pure boxing match against Rousey.

 

And just like Tyson when she faces someone who isn't afraid, will stand her ground and punch her in the mouth she will fall apart. That person is NOT Miesha Tate.

Much like my comparing Tate to Razor Rudduck, she can also be compared to Frank Bruno. When Tyson needed a title fresh out of prison, Bruno was there to take a beating and give his up.

 

It does make you wonder: is there anyone out there who can extend Rousey besides a Brazilian drug cheat who expects the champion to move up in weight? Maybe that kickboxer chick who beat Cyborg? She was bigger-framed though, so unlikely to make it to 135.

 

I keep calling her chemically enhanced because she is chemically enhanced. Would she look so manly if she wasn't roiding until she got caught? Probably not. When someone gains a chemical advantage from taking steroids, as she was doing, the advantage doesn't completely go away when they stop taking drugs. Did East German track athletes turn back into women when they stopped roiding? No, they remained hairy, manly-looking drug cheats, a hybrid of drugs and woman. That's what Cyborg is.

My guess is that the fight will happen eventually. Yes, it's been a while since Cyborg got caught, but expecting someone to move up in weight to fight you when you've been nailed for taking steroids is a bad joke, and if Rousey jumped through that hoop, the joke would be on her. Hagler was best at 160. Did he move up when it was clear that it was his best weight? No, he established a benchmark for middleweight greatness that others pursued and he was right to do so. Him moving up to fight a steroid-enhanced opponent would have tarnished his legacy and it would have been a really stupid move on his part.

Cyborg the most dominant WMMA fighter out there? So is Rousey, but moving up in weight to fight a drug cheat plays into that drug cheat's hands.

 

Who did Cyborg beat exactly to make this a catch weight "super fight" ???

 

Carano, Coenen? Who did Ronda beat? It's fucking women's MMA...

Plus that KO of Correia looked like a quit job to me. Ronda is an awful striker, and that punch that finished the job looked like garbage. Female Mike Tyson . More like Royce Gracie among UFC 1 competition. These 135 pound women, have no skill, no will, no power, no anything. Ronda is very lucky.

 

Oh for sure. I mean if Cyborg looked like the Cyborg from Ex Machina, and not the Terminator she'd be in the UFC long time ago

 

She looks bad but not worse. They both look like garbage, but one is more the regular kind,and one the better, recycable kind.

It's pretty simple to me. If Cyborg can't get off the juice and drop to 135 pounds then she just doesn't get a slice of the Ronda Rousey money pie.

If she can't then it really doesn't hurt the UFC or Rousey. They can continue to make bank regardless of who Rousey is matched against.

145 pounds for women is a wasteland. There is zero talent. The Invicta 145 lb. roster is wading pool shallow. The UFC absolutely does not need a 145 pound division. There is no reason whatsoever.

 

I think an argument could be made for a catchweight fight if it wasn't already proven that Cyborg's size and dominance is the result of PEDs.


Where there's smoke there's fire. For years Cyborg's manly appearance and strength was the smoke. The positive drug test just proved there was fire behind the smoke.


I call her a dominant fighter the same way I would call Bonds the best slugger in baseball history, with a huge asterisk that screams bullshit.

The cheater should not be rewarded. If she wants Ronda's success, then beat her cleanly at 135.

 

If Cormier can make 205 years after dying trying to make 212 and fighting in the 220's, then Cyborg can make 135.

However, that picture next to Frankie means I might be wrong. Holy shit does she look big.

Trying to argue Cyborg shouldn't be thought of as a juicer. Please. I'm willing to give Ronda the benefit of the doubt, but she does look suspicious. Cyborg looks like the textbook example.
