When REED Speaks of "Competitive Arrogance", he's Referring to THE WAY Jones/Rousey Go OUT of their Way to PERFORM...

Their MOTIVATION May Differ, in Why they Do it, but it's ALL The Same Shit, 1nce the Fight Starts..."I'm BETTER than this Bitch/Motherfucker & I'm Going to BEAT Her/Him Using their OWN Shit"...That's the Mentality, w/Out Question....Pure, Unfiltered, GLADIATOR Type of Shit...

1nce the Hype, "Countdown" Shows, Press Conferences, Weigh-In and Ringwalk are Done, ALL that's Left to Do is PERFORM...1nce The Bell Rings, Jones/Rousey Typically IMPOSE Themselves on their Opponents, in a Way PRESUMED to Be "Favorable" to their Foe's Liking, Pre-Fight...

Rousey's More APPRECIABLY Arrogant, LESS Fake, LESS Concerned about Portraying an Image, but her and Jones ARE Similar, 1nce that Opening Bell Tolls...

The only difference is one is pretty much beating cans and the other is beating all time greats.

It's kind of like Tyson or Fedor. They may be cans but they're the best cans of the era. And like Tyson and Fedor, Rousey has clearly and unquestionable separated herself from her contemporaries.

Rousey is playing along with the hype. She talks a lot more shit than she used to and I think it's just for the cameras a lot of the time.

I wouldn't call crocop, nog x3, Colemanx2' Randelman, arlovski and a few others cans.

No one said anything about "all cans", just like Zingano, Tate, Kaufmann, etc are not cans.

The similarity is that they've put themselves on a completely different level than their opposition. It was true with Tyson, Fedor and now Ronda.

Has Ronda ever fought a black chick? Maybe that's her kryptonite. Speaking of which, why is there so few black chicks? World star videos have all these crazy black chicks kicking ass, but in mma nothing.

Yeah weird, black men are also under-represented compared to boxing it seems, although there are quite a few.

Did Anderson Silva fight any black dudes in the UFC? I can't think of any. It's weird that the greatest P4P fighter of all time (debatably) was a black guy with no other black guys near the top of his division.

Stadium holds 54,000, they'll fill it. Melbourne sports fans love their big sporting events.

Bigfoot / Hunt was one of the best heavyweight fights I've ever seen. The rematch should be fun too.

I'm not expecting Rousey / Holm to be close, but I like Ronda and it's always good seeing her win.

So the The UFC uses their cash cow to save another card. If Rousey-Correia did over 900k buys with an absolutely shitty undercard, I'm guessing this one gets close to a million against with the Hunt-Bigfoot rematch supporting it.

    You know why???

The obvious reason is 70000 fans...after all this is a business. I much rather watch a fight vs. someone Rousey has not destroyed than to watch her destroy the same opponent over and over.:elmo:

So the put her wity the #8 contender in Holmes and then want the #1 contender in Tate, to fight the #3 contender in Nunez? That's bullshit

Tate can fight her back to no. 1 contender as often as she wants - casual fans get bored with the same match-up after two very conclusive fights that showed no upside for Tate. I'd rather see Holm, although I'm with you she has an even slimmer chance than Tate. I just prefer Rousey destroying different opponents. I think Nunes might even have the best shot, which ain't saying much.

But that wasnt my point. Your point is valid. My point is that why should tate fight the #3 contender and the champion fight the #8 contender? Shouldnt rousey be fighting Nunes? Who is ranked #3?

The UFC has a monopoly and can do whatever the heck it wants. This makes more financial sense which means it will make more fans happy than those who have principled problems with it like you. Oh well.

Nunes is a much more marketable fight than Holmes.

Well yeah. Definitely Nunes deserves it more than Holm. Hell I couldn't argue with you if Tate got it, since she is no. 1 although personally I'd prefer Nunes.

I am also not sure about Nunes being more marketable. Why do you think so? Of course she proved a little more in the octagon but who cares from a casual fan perspective. At least with Holm you got the Preacherman thing and elite boxing credentials that give you some marketability. Of course I'm not talking Mayweather crossover dimensions here but it should be at least on Nunes' level?

Nunes is more marketable because Holmes has been Blah in her fights. The fact that they have to build up holmes boxing to sell this fight says it all.

"Amanda Nunes has only lost 4 times of 15 bouts in her MMA career and she actually made it into the 3rd round against Cat Zingano.

Tune in on November 4th and watch her challenge Ronda Rousey for the UFC bantamweight championship. Only $59.95."

Holy shit, how marketable. How could that fight not break purchase records?

Real MMA fans dont look at losses like boxing fans do. A loss in MMA is a learning experience to improve on. A loss in boxing is usually the end of the world. That being said she is ranked #3 and Holmes #8. dont get me wrong. Im not a huge believer in Nunes as some here, but i dont think it's fair that Tate should have to fight tougher challenges than the Champ. Im glad Tate is sticking up for herself and refusing to sign with Nunes until she actually gets respect. THe UFC still hasnt contacted her.
