Looks like there have been some talks about this one.

Don't think it's good for Gamboa to fight someone like Walters coming off a long layoff.

Welters (as Neil cleverly nicknamed him) will stop Glassboa late.

As in the Gamboa that Crawford knocked out?

Really? Granted, Welters is NOT as good as Crawford, but still, Gamboa's jaw is pretty fragile and he's likely past his prime at this point.

hes been off a while but he is still a lot more skilled than welters and the size difference wont be as drastic if they fight at 130, as vs crawford at 135

I mean, it wouldn't be the hugest upset. Gamboa is more naturally talented, and Welters looked vulnerable against Marriaga. Gamboa was giving TC fits, but TC was versatile and talented enough to adjust on the fly and take over. Welters doesn't have that type of ability or versatility. STILL, I think he catches Gamboa late.

    It's a helluva matchup though!

Consider that before the end of the year we already have Mares-SC, Groves-Jack, Gonzalez-Viloria, GGG-Lemoo, Canelo-Cotto, and could potentially see Rios-Provo and Walters-Gamboa.

Pretty fuckin strong end to 2015.

Dunno what happened to Thurman-Porter, I had heard that fight was close to finalized, but guess just rumors.

Neither one is an elite fighter, but it's a good matchup. I'm guessing Ward will fight the winner, because I somewhat suspect he wants no parts of Kov, despite what he says.

Oh yeah, Matty Ice vs Postol! Another very good matchup before years end!

Agree. And Gamboa can hit. And welters is not exactly a defensive genius. Like the match up but from a mgmt point of view, seems like a mistake for welters.

Not just versatile and talented. But a lot bigger. Let's face it. He's fighting at 140 now and Gamboa belongs at 130.

Who gives a shit whether it's a mistake, it's gonna be a great action fight regardless.

Well, in THEORY - Gamboa might actually grown a brain and realize that his best chance to win is use his speed to box and move. But Gamboa's not a very bright fighter, he'll go to war.

I never said size DIDN'T play a factor. BUT, if Crawford was just a bigger fighter with limited talent, Gamboa coulda boxed circles around him.

Crawford's a BETTER FIGHTER than Gamboa. Doesn't have the same handspeed, but has more substance, more skill, and waaayyyyy higher ring IQ.

Just saying. Crawford's win over Gamboa not all that impressive given the size difference. And I like crawford a lot and have high hopes for him. But let'stand not pretend Gamboa did not look like a midget in there.

It's impressive when you consider how calm TC remained, and how expertly he studied Gamboa's flaws for 3-4 rounds then exposed them.

I'd much rather see TC fight Matty Ice next (assuming he gets past Postol) but my fear is with Crawford with TR and Lucas with GB that it won't happen. I might be wrong, but I think Amir Imam is line to fight the Matthysse-Postol winner.

But regardless of who Crawford is fighting next, I'd bet you any amount of money that he'd thrash the living shit outta your boy Cherry Garcia.

Sad thing is we can be fairly sure that fight will never happen even though I think it would be great.

    Imam/Mathysse would be great.

Indeed it would be, but even as a Matthysse fan, I'm not certain he beats Postol. He probably will, but it's no sure thing.

Only thing I'm sure of, after getting exposed twice, scrub ass Broner is going nowhere near the llkes of Imam, Matty Ice, or Peterson.

Imam has a lot of talent. Excellent jab, fast hands, potent right hand, I'm just VERY worried about his chin. If Matty Ice lands clean on him, I think he's gone.

He'd beat the fuck outta Broner though.

I truly believe Broner is done.

His credibility is lower than crocodile piss after tha bitch made performance against Porter.

Broner is at stepping stone status now for the young guys on the come up.

He'll eat his way out of 140 soon enough, though.

What a joke. Apparently, multiple humiliations were not sufficient to make broner go away.

Broner is a perfect example of how important a size advantage is. At 130 fighting guys half his size he appeared dominant. Against guys his own size, he's a pretender.

I think broner is a natural lightweight. I think he doesn't like being such a small guy so he's put on prison muscle and football pudge that's not compatable with him being a world class fighter.
