Of course it does, there's less money to go around now, but we already knew that. Can't get away with paying a starting QB in the NFL, 3rd round rookie money forever.

Props to Hayne on Making the Squad...He'll Be FUN to Watch, for Certain...Not Sure if the NFL Still Designates a Pro Bowl Spot for Special Teamers, but If So, Hayne Will Be in the Mix for 1...

Does he Play Special Teams DEFENSE as Well???....

The impetus is Chancellor being a dumbass. he signed for what he signed for. sherman and earl thomas, more valuable seahawks, arent begging for more money after they just signed extensions a year ago.

Didn't realize he just signed a contract and was making like $7 million a year and had three years left on his contract. How the fuck does that play on Russell Wilson? They didn't even talk to Russell Wilson until he had one year left on his Rookie deal.

What the fuck team would renegotiate a contract one year in without instantly becoming the laughing stock of the rest of the league?

Either this is just a ploy by Kam to get more time off from training camp and recover from last seasons injuries before the team doctors see him (Mike Strahan used to pretend to hold out every preseason just to skip the wear and tear of training camp), or he's a dumb motherfucker who thinks he deserves QB money now. I'd guess it's the former.

I admit I didn't know the details of the situation then. I assumed he was nearing the end of a contract and was vastly underpaid compared to his peers. Looking into it more, that is not the case. I doubt the Seahawks would have opened themselves up to a re-negotiation this early into a generous contract, regardless of what Wilson was getting paid at the time. Like I said, they told a Super Bowl winning QB on a 3rd round Rookie contract to pound sand two years ago.

Why would they open up themselves to renegotiate with a safety coming off an injury, 1 year into a pretty generous contract to begin with? Kam could very well end up being a huge piece of dead cap space as it is, why make it worse?

I'd guess that Kam bought too big a house, and suddenly realized the end of his present contract may end up being the end of his NFL career as the lifespan of NFL safeties go, and is grasping at straws...........or, he just wants a break from training camp.

Finally, the time has come. The annual highlight of Fightbeat's existance, the only thing that keeps this board going, it is once again time for the most anticipated post on this board, year after year.....TFK's annual NFL Prediction thread.

    AFC East: Miami Dolphins
God, I hate to do this. I hate picking Miami to win, and I never do, but this has to be the year. Miami is a complete team with a crazy insane defense, a Top 10 QB who is only getting better, and a ton of weapons. The Pats didn't have the best offseason, losing some big name players. This season ushers in a changing of the guard in the East.

    AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
While the Steelers won't have the best defense, their offense will be huge. Antonio Brown is the best WR in the league, Bell is one of the better RB's in the league, and Big Ben is still Big Ben.

    AFC South: Indianapolis Colts
Without Andrew Luck, the Colts are an average team. But Luck turns a 6 win team into a 10 win team. The addition of Gore and Johnson look better on paper than they will on the field, but it'll be enough to win the division fairly easily.

    AFC West: Denver Broncos
With the emergence of CJ Anderson and a new coaching staff, Denver is supposed to be going with a run first strategy this season. Peyton Manning is still QB, so I'll believe it when I see it.

Wildcard Teams: New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals
The Pats may have fallen off a bit, but they'll still make the playoffs. Although I can't imagine Tom Brady is too thrilled that 7 of his games this season he faces the defensive lines of Miami, Buffalo, the Jets and Houston. Cincy will win a tiebreaker with San Diego to grab the final playoff spot in the AFC.

    NFC East: Dallas Cowboys
I think this is the year it all comes together for Romo. He may not have his best year statistically, but he won't be haunted by the mistakes, flubs, bad luck, etc that has hurt him in previous years. The elite O-Line will make any RB on the team not named McFadden look great.

    NFC North: Green Bay Packers

Even with losing Jordy Nelson, the Pack are still the class of the North. Rodgers will have another Rodgers-esque season and they'll be playoff bound again.

    NFC South: Atlanta Falcons
Has there been a more underachieving team the last few years in the NFL than the Falcons? This is the year they get back on track, and Tevin Coleman will prove to be the real deal.

    NFC West: Seattle Seahawks
Still the best team in the NFC. With the Niners going from one of the league's dominant teams to one of it's jokes seemingly overnight, Seattle will win the division running away. Jimmy Graham will be gold in the red zone for Russell Wilson.

Wildcard Teams: Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles
The Vikings will be the surprise team of the NFC, with Teddy Bridgewater coming into his own this season. Philly will somehow find themselves in the playoffs in spite of not really being a playoff worthy team.

    Playoffs:
    Colts beat Bengals
    Miami beats the Pats
    Dallas beats Philly
    Vikings beat Atlanta

    Week 2:
    Steelers beat Miami
    Denver beats the Colts
    Seattle beats the Vikings
    Green Bay beats Dallas

    Championship Games:

    Pittsburgh over Denver
    Seattle over Green Bay

    Superbowl:
    Seattle beats Pittsburgh

    Random thoughts:
Both Mariotta and Winston will suffer severe growing pains, neither having a good season, and both throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. Cleveland will give Johnny Idiot Face another chance this year, and he will fall on his face again. He's just not an NFL quality QB. Cleveland could be the worst team in the NFL this year. Teddy Bridgewater becomes a breakout star. The fall of Drew Brees begins this year, although Brandon Cooks will have a great year. Jarvis Landry will have 100+ receptions and double digit touchdowns. Todd Gurley won't do much this season, but will have a great career.

NFL games will be shown on terrestrial tv on a weekly basis over here. Channel 5 used to have it, then I think channel 4, now the BBC have picked it up.

All it takes is a phone call.

I was a little worried this year that it may be different, since DirecTV was bought out by AT&T, but this was the easiest year yet.

I think it's the exact opposite. To me, Gronk comes off as a douchey meathead who people only tolerate because he's so talented.

That being said, I drafted him in one of my fantasy leagues, and I'll take his 3 douchey meatheaded TD's tonight.

Gronk Puts the PROTEIN in "Meathead", but he's Still Likable, in REED's Opinion...REED Can't Say He Sees Anything Overtly "Douchey" about Dude...

Most "Meatheads" are Standoffish, Arrogant, Confrontational and Borderline Bullies (to Non Threatening People, Anyways)...Whereas, Gronk has a Happy Go Lucky, Engaging, Self Deprecating, Party/Frat Boy Vibe to Him...

Stereotypical "Meatheads" JUMP @ Opportunities to Be Assholes, while Gronk Comes Off as a Dude Just Wanting to Have a Good Time, More Times than Not...Playfully Going @ it in Mosh Pits, Banging Porn Stars, etc...AND, he Just Sooooo Happens to Be THE Best Tight End in Pro Football...
