I'd take O'Grady. Gatti was a mediocre lightweight. One strength O'Grady had was that he was very good body puncher, and I remember how Angel Mandredy raped Gatti to the body at 135. Moreso than weight though, the O'Grady that beat Kenty was simply a better fighter than ANY version of Gatti really. I'll take O'Grady by late stoppage over Gatti at lightweight.
O'Grady was Tough and Had Skills, but that Skin....Oh, That Tenderized Skin of his... The 1st 3 Rows of an O'Grady Fight Typically Resembled the Nicole Brown-Simpson/Ron Goldman Crime Scene...& Dude WON Many of those Bouts!!!...If the Ref Could STOMACH the Crimson Mask that would Undoubtedly Cover O'Grady's Face, he'd Beat Gatti Either by Late Stoppage or UD... But the Thing is, Refs & Ringside Physicians of Today WOULDN'T Allow a Fight to Continue, w/the Level of BLEEDING that Generally Accompanied a Sean O'Grady Bout...There's a Very REAL Chance O'Grady LOSES by "TKO" in a Fight he's WINNING... REED:mj:
Gatti's lackluster career at 135 was partly due to his out of the ring extra activities....having said that...Mandredy got that crucial cut on Gatti..that was the difference...Gatti was the one wearing manfredy down before the cut stoppage...just saying I pick Ogrady as well considering gatti was mediocre at 135
Gatti never at any weight had a performance as impressive as O'Grady's ass whipping of Kenty. Granted, it was enhanced by Kenty being sick, but Sean still displayed more skill in that fight than Gatti had.
