Dude, what the fuck. The civilized world is moving closer and closer to legalizing cannabis. It's safer than alcohol, it has many medical benefits, and it's LEGAL in Nick's home state. Even in the backwards jobs that still do drug testing, failing a test for weed doesn't get you banned from that line of work for 5 years.

If Diaz is banned from fighting for 5 years, Anderson Silva must be banned for life. Right? Only one guy was cheating in that fight.

Diaz' sentence was actually reduced to 5 years from life

Not that it matters. Nick Diaz could be a top contender right now if he trains seriously and works hard. That probably won't be true in 5 years.

I get that the sentence sucks. I really do, but nobody put a gun to this fools head.

My guess is, with UFC being global now, he can fight in the overseas fights. Might not be so bad.

the hypocrisy shown by nevada is beyond contempt

Not only that, Diaz actually passed two Wada tests. It was a different organization that tested him that claims he failed. Actually from the testimony there is plenty of room for appeal. But like i said, he should just leave it alone and fight the overseas fights.

not for the ufc, theyll hold each others dicks i'm sure.

appeal and try to get this in front of an actual law court may be his best if costly option.

other than that trying to get the ufc to release him and fight in japan as a big fuck you to nevada

i watched it and diaz lawyer slayed that bitch who suggested the lifetime ban and im guessing to her anger caused her ott sentencing.

the evidence of the failed test not being sealed and having diaz name written on it should be enough to have that test thrown out in a court of law which leaves only two passed tests.

Nah i think the UFC will allow him to fight overseas. If it was steroids maybe, but weed? I dont know.

For overseas fights? sure. It's not really breaking any rules. The just isnt licensed to fight in NV.

I read somewhere that the UFC was going to follow Nevada's lead in terms of fighters being banned. Other organizations might not care about Nick being suspended in Nevada.

I wanted to see a Diaz / Lawler rematch, but that already seemed unlikely when Nick lost the decision to Anderson.

If this suspension holds up, I would bet my last dollar the UFC allows him to fight overseas. You think If Silva got a 5 year ban, The UFC wouldnt let him fight in Brazil?

Ridiculous ban - UFC drug testing, it's gotta be on par with the WWE

This ban is BS. Nick is an easy high profile target.

If the UFC come out strong and start banning all cheats then great but we all know they won't.

He won't be missed. He was always nothing more than a one dimensional fighter who was completely unable to adapt when an opponent did anything other than just stand there and let him throw punches. His trash talking and vocal love of getting high made the simplest of fans believe he was a much better fighter than he really is and turned him into some kind of cult hero. Besides, it's pretty obvious Diaz's heart isn't into fighting anymore.

Granted, that kind of suspension for pot is silly, but if the rules say don't do it, you don't do it, period. If the rules say don't wear a blue hat, and you get fined and suspended because you continue to wear blue hats again and again, I have no pity for you, because silly as a no blue hat rule may be, it was still a rule.

TFK, quit being dense. Whatever pot is, it's not something that is worth a 5 month's suspension, much less 5 years.

Pot doesn't hurt anyone except, potentially, the pot user. It's like a -PED.

Problem is he knew the consequences. And still fucked up. It doesnt matter who it hurts. That being said, it seems there are some discrepancies in the test so who knows?

When did I say anything to the contrary?

Go back and read my post again and see if you can comprehend it better this time. Ask for help if you need it.

Nick Diaz is a two dimensional fighter, at least. He has elite MMA boxing skills and elite MMA jiu jitsu skills. He's vulnerable to the top wrestlers, but he's not a one dimensional fighter.

You might not miss him when he's gone. That doesn't mean he won't be missed.

We always hear about Diaz's elite BJJ, but he only has 4 submission wins in 25 fights in the past 11 years. You'd think someone with elite BJJ would win a few more fights by submission.
