    Like I said before, Ali have losses. How many tough, HONGey, COMPETITORS have Ali beat? Like I said before, Ali, you know, great fighter. TOUGH, WELL TRAINED, COMPETITOR, but he have lost to Leon Spinks. How can he be TBE? Like I said before, Ali have Parkinsons. Floyd Mayweather don't shake. Floyd Mayweather only shake strippers when they got outta line. But I still respect the strippers for being tough, HONGgrey, COMPETITORS, and I don't take no opponent lightly! Like I said before, what have Ali done?

    Indeed. I should imagine most people would do likewise.

    Re: 'non-defensive'...are you referring to:
    * Jones disputed-decision in '63
    * Cooper dropped left-hook in '63
    * Frazier dropped left-hook in '71
    * Foster cut-eye in '72
    * Norton broken-jaw in '73

    Or could these be considered 'careless' ?

    I don't think anyone on this forum would say that Ali was the 'best' boxer - he got hit by every left hand ever thrown at him :scratcher:

    but his resume is awesome, which is all that matters really

    He was better when he came back. Smarter, more responsible and more physically developed and durable. Cassius Clay wouldn't go the distance with a prime Frazier.

    No. I said that around the time of the Castillo fights but Floyd improved since then. The first Maidana fight is a perfect example of why I picked him at the time. Floyd was past prime but Maidana was a c-level version of a prime Alvarez.

    I don't know about this forum but there are quite a few people that consider him "the best boxer"... In fact he's often mentioned as one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time.

    I'm not saying he wasn't a great fighter but he's over rated in every sense of the word.

    Between 1962-67, that's a fair comment.

    Hogwash.

    Don't confuse the kid that fought Henry Cooper the first time with the guy that beat Cleveland Williams, Ernie Terrell and Zora Foley. People often make that mistake. Prime Ali was from Liston rematch to his last fight before Exile. To suggest that pre-exile Ali would have been stopped by Frazier is beyond ignorant.

    Shit, had young clay not fought Sonny Liston, a guy like you would have suggested that Liston would have also knocked him out. Liston hit just as hard as Frazier did and with both hands...and was naturally bigger.
