It depends entirely on who there is to face at Commonwealth level. As much as you seemingly hate the guy, Whyte is probably the best domestic level opponent available now that Furry is fighting Wlad. There are no Gary Mason's or Derek Williams' to face like Lennox had in the 90's.

Much like the consensus opinion, I don't give his Olympic gold much credence as I thought he got very lucky. He seems far better as a pro though.

Of course he seems far better as a pro. He's gone from facing (and arguably losing to) elite level comp as an ammy to beating handily a bunch of utter scrubs. He's supposed to look better. I'd back every single one of the ammys he 'beat' to win that gold to have beaten all these stiffs, too.

And I don't 'hate' Whyte. I don't even know the bloke. I just recognise that he is crap.

By looking better I mean he has made technical improvements. Of course the competition has been shit, as it is for everybody at this stage in their careers (with a couple of exceptions). I thought he looked raw as fuck in the ams (including the fights he DID genuinely win) and he is a world apart from that guy now.

My point is that you simply cannot judge these 'technical adjustments' because he is beating up cans. I'd suggest that he looks better simply because his opposition is fucking crap - has anyone even hit him yet FFS?

Not true at all. Wilder was doing the same stuff (namely fighting like a drunk) against bums as he's doing now as a belt holder and as he did when he was an amateur. There's been no discernible change. I think there has been noticeable improvement from Joshua's pro debut (which didn't impress me) to now. All against bums, so yes you can totally judge technical tweaks, despite the competition, as long as you have a starting point.

Yeah.....you can't get much gauge of a guy's chin or heart against bums but you can pick out technical things. He's come on in leaps since his pro debut (where i thought he looked pish)

Lmao. C'mon now... Wilders not great but he's like night and day compared to when he turned pro. He couldn't fight at all.

He still can't. Wilder is a KO waiting to happen. The first halfway decent counterpuncher that he goes up against is going to clean his clock.

Deontay Wilder's surname really suits him, doesn't it.

Eubank Jr-'Spike' O'Sullivan should be added to the Joshua-Whyte card in December. I even heard Hearn might make this event a PPV event.

The title page on Joshua's website 'The People's Future Champion!' ....what a weird claim. 'I'm going to win you all over in the future! You'll love me! Wait 'til i I turn on the charm, you're gonna melt like yesterday's snow!'
