I don't have any news to back this up. No links. Nothing. Just intuition. Just the logic of the sly.

Now, I know, everyone is sick of Mayweather and his boring one-sided safety first fights that always go the distance. Yeah yeah, I'm bored too. However there are three reasons why he's not done yet.

Firstly, he's 49-0. Why not make it a clean 50-0 and surpass Marciano's record? This is just common sense.

Secondly, he has one last MEGA-fight to fight with minimal risk: a rematch against the winner of Cotto-Alvarez. He's beaten both before and with ease and neither has the style to trouble him...and it'll be for BIG money.

Thirdly, this fight would give him a Middleweight belt: Title in his sixth division.

So, I don't need to read or hear anything, I know he's secretly planning for this fight, because it makes Dollars and Sense.

He that is Sly has Spoken!!

I think he'll be back too but it's hard to see him do it for the Cotto-Canelo winner.

My guess is he'll wait for a big fight to occur between two of the top 147 pounders, and then fight the winner of that in September.

There is no one at 147 aside from Pacquiao that will bring him the type of money the Cotto-Alvarez winner will.

He wont risk fighting a young gun at this stage of his career. I know Alvarez is young, but since he's already beaten him and his style suits him, he'd go for that. Those young hungry lions (he he) that you speak of, he aint going anywhere near them and neither should he.

Cotto vs. MAyweather is more intriguing than Canelo vs. Mayweather.

For Puerto Ricans, sure, Mexicans would likely disagree with you though.

After Saturday, I don't think any fan besides you gives a shit about seeing Floyd fight again.

I was a HUGE fan of Pretty Boy Floyd. HE was fun to watch.

Money May was horrible to watch and can stay gone forever.

I might look forward to a Mayweather fight if it's against Golovkin or Kovalev.

Damn Sly, you might be on to something. I haven't heard anybody suspecting this yet, but few seem to have your inside knowledge and you bring up some valid arguments!

I don't care to see Floyd fight again either. Just stating my opinion.

Money May had some fun fights: Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, Ortiz.

Ah, the son of the German whore speaks. Still trying to be a relevant poster I see. If you were to die today no one here would even realize that you're gone.

The Hatton fight was the only truly great performance from Money May.

I truly believe he coulda stopped fragile ass Cotto had he really put his foot on the gas. But the Hatton fight is the only time Money May put his foot on the gas.

Wow...great logic...same thing every other person in the planet has been saying.

HOPEFULLY HBO/SHOWTIME don't allow themselves to get robbed again...."Sure Floyd we will give you a 100 million ONE fight contract....but you will have to fight GGG at 154, AGREE??....nooo? U want to fight Khan? Nah..nah that fight is NOT worth 100 million...what? He's a young lion?".

Mejicans are less forgiving...they have more option on fighters...they won't forget that Canelo fought Floyd like a bitch....even if Canelo destroys Cotto(he won't)

How can you say Cotto did not give him problems?

It wasn't Cotto who gave him problems....FLOYD just plan it out that way...allow Cotto to hit him...fight Cotto style of fight....I mean that why the Mayweather made a big deal about who will train FLOYD...they say Uncle was sick...but that family can't keep their stories straight...Papa Floyd said My son got hit toooo much by Cotto...so lil Floyd had to return to the boxing that made him FLOYD.

If Mayweather wants to cement his legacy with a career defining superfight. He will fight GGG at 154. That fight would speak for itself.

I think the cotto fight is the most impressive of floyds career. Cotto was prime and fought well. And Floyd was never close to stopping him at all.
