IF Nunes had Holm's boxing record they would use that, too. Holm is at least undefeated - but yeah I agree if they were bot MMA fighter's only, Nunes is lightyears more exciting. I just don't think enough people know about that. The clips they showed of Bethe Correia looked almost as energetic as Nunes so I doubt this will be selling more than Holm's boxing. regarding to what you say about REAL MMA fans. They aren't the one who push Rouseys PPVs close to a million.
nunes is much more known to MMA fans than Holmes. And i disagree about real MMA fans not pushing Ronda's PPVs to a million. Everyone wants to see Ronda fighting.
Maybe to you since you don't even know her last name, but Holly Holm is more well known because of her boxing experience which crosses over to mma fans, too. Are you willing to bet that Rousey/Nunes has a bigger ppv buy rate than Rousey/Holm if they are both standalone, no other championship cards?
I think based off their MMA performances and Nunes Brazilian base, nunes vs. Rousey is a much bigger draw at the moment.
Yeah I don't think so let alone "much more". Sure everyone wants to see Ronda moreso than other fighters only real MMA fans want to see. That's why I say with Ronda the casual non hardcore MMA fan makes a bigger percentage of the PPV numbers. And the brazilian base is irrelevant for US PPV numbers.
GSP got high PPV numbers and it wasnt casual non hardcore people watching it. People gravitate towards great fighters. And the US has a huge Brazilian population, so yes it does.
Anthony, Are you willing to bet that Rousey/Nunes has a bigger ppv buy rate than Rousey/Holm if they are both standalone, no other championship cards?
What is huge? under 1%? And yeah Ronda is doing the GSP part in this equation. Nobody is gravitating to Nunes, yet.
What does Holm being American have to do with anything? GSP wasnt american and was the top draw for many years. Again, Nunes has a big brazilian fan base.
sorry I edited my post after you quoted it... I was trying to make a point that Holm being american would also generate numbers since there is also a huge number of americans in the US, even mores than brazilians. But those of course already tune in for Rousey. let's say brazilians buy at the same rate as americans do. then you get 3500 additional buys out of the brazlilians. And since Rousey is probably more well known among brazilian MMA fans than Nunes a lot of those who would tune in for Nunes probably would tune in for Rousey. So sorry that brazilian effect is pure speculation from your part.
Honestly this is all nonense. Ronda is the draw. It doesnt matter who she fights really. That being said, she should be fighting the #1 contender, but if not, she should not be fighting the #8 contender of the #3. This isnt really a debate. It's completely absurd. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ei7iPPgxM3w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Okay, we are on for $50 assuming Rousey/Nunes is a similar ppv. I suppose also assuming it happens before 2017 and Rousey remains unbeaten.
"Rousey vs. Correia," which took place on Aug. 1, 2015 inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, returned in excess of 900,000 buys, the largest number for a UFC PPV since UFC 168: "Weidman vs. Silva 2" -- where Rousey co-headlined -- according to MMA Fighting. This is comparable to Rousey Holm in that it is a standalone event vs an undefeated. It's comparable to Rousey Nunes in that it is a Brazilian. "that early estimates have UFC 184, which was headlined by Rousey defending her belt versus Cat Zingano, selling in the 500,000-600,000 range." I suspect that Nunes will be a big enough step in the wrong direction that I'll win this bet, but Rousey's popularity might still be growing and the variables might not make it clear why either of us is right. Someone should set up a poll with a question such as "Which opponent would result in a higher ppv buy rate for Ronda Rousey?" And then have our two girls listed as options.
The variables are too inconsistent right now. Anthony probably would say the increase from 600.000 PPV buys to 900.000 from Zingano to Correia is because of the huge brazilian population in the states... People could get bored with the quarter of a round lasting destructions rather quickly... to many predictors to calculate here, imo.

Not really. Just nothing going on in MMA at the moment. Waiting on that big fight in Australia in a few weeks. I will start posting the building up episodes.
