Pac is made in Heaven for Wil.

Shorter guy who LOVES to open up. Benitez can sit back and counter punch all night long. I think this has similar elements to the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight only Benitez punches harder than Mayweather, and he would ASSERT himself more in the fight. I think he walks Manny into counter rights all night long and blasts him out in the mid to late rounds.

    Benitez KO 7

I dunno if he stops Pac that quickly, but he SURELY dominates him. Benitez would counter the living fuck outta stupid ass Pac.

True. The reason I say around 7 is because I feel Benitez hits harder than Marquez and pulls the trigger quicker. I think he'd be so accurate and precise that sooner or later, Pac would fall. Maybe it does last longer. But we are in agreement that this is NOT competitive.

You could be right. Benitez countered the shit outta Palomino with some clean shots that Pac might not take.

But no, it wouldn't be competitive. Terrible style matchup for Pac, and Benitez was the bigger man. Not only bigger, but had about 3-4 inches of height on Manny. Manny looked tiny against Floyd, and Benitez was a naturally bigger guy than Floyd, and about 1-2 inches taller than Floyd.

Pacquiao is penalized in MMs because of the 4th Marquez fight. But history has shown us over and over that certain guys just have the style to beat others. Tyson took bombs from Ruddock and Bruno but Douglas and Holyfield hurt him. If you don't like those examples, their are others.

I tend to agree that benitez has the stuff to possibly beat Pacquiao, but Manny Pacquiao was a GREAT fighter and a unique talent. That combination of handspeed, stamina, workrate, power is virtually unheard of in boxing...add to that the southpaw style and he's a tough customer to deal with. Benitez never fought anyone like that.

You coulda posted this MM right after Pac beat up Cotto, and I'd have said the same thing. Benitez was all wrong for him. You're talking about one of the finest counter punchers of all time against a guy with a weakness for counter punchers.

As I said, Benitez was a lot taller than Pac for one, meaning Pac would be lunging in from the start. Benitez catches him lunging in all night with his right hand, slips under his right hook, and side steps him.

Benitez also had a very good, very accurate jab, and we all know once you jab Pac that he has to reset his offense.
