I admit, I've watched a few Postol fights and he can box. With that height and reach, it could prove to be a long night for Matthysse.

That said, my call is Matthysse KO 8

This prediction might be based more on my heart than my head, but I'll go with Matty Ice by late stoppage whilst behind on the cards.

BUT, a Postol win wouldn't shock me at all.

What a right hand. I'm not a fan of Postol's style but he is an excellent fighter. He TOTALLY dominated Matthysse.

He'll be a hard guy to beat because of the height and reach, and deceptive pop.

Crawford vs Postol is a fight that hopefully gets made next year.

Give credit where credit is due. Broner looked good. His best performance since the DeMarco fight. He's still not a top fighter, but he saved himself from being considered a stepping stone. He's dreadful at welter, but at 140 he's decent. He'd get badly whupped by Crawford or Postol though.

Broner's fight was better than the Postol fight.

In what way? Broner stopped a fringe contender on his feet in the 12th round. Postol with one right hand dropped, and stopped a guy who many considered the best junior welter in the world.

I don't see how the two performances are even comparable.

I didn't say Broner's fight was more meaningful. The Postol fight was boring. Guy held a ton. The best part was the ending but outside of that it wasn't a good match.

Postol did a fair amount of clinching early to negate Matthysse's offense. It actually took Matthysse buzzing him to wake him up. From that point on, he woke up and beat the shit outta Matthysse, then stopped him with one punch.

Broner NEEDED an entertaining fight, and good win, considering ALLLL he did was clinch, run, and survive against Porter.

Surprised there aren't more posts about this fight.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but the first thing that popped into my head was "Russian Mob Fix" when Matthysse went down....and stayed down.

Has there been reports of Matthysse breaking an orbital bone or something? Looked like a total quit job to me. That was a bit of a powder puff punch, or a thumb in the eye to put a guy like Matthysse down. That was certainly no "power display".

Looked more of a flash knockdown and Matthysse just don't wanna get up. He looked discouraged to me.

Amir Imam may be in line for a shot at Postals title. Think he can win?

I think it's possible he can win. It's a good matchup. But Postol should be favored.

Yeah. Seems like Imam would handle a come forward guy pretty easy. But a rangy guy like Postol is another story.

Still, Imam is a dangerous counter puncher and better defensively than Mathysse

I had Postol up 6-4 maybe 7-3. He may have saved himself with a well timed headbutt when he was hurt. Mathysse says he felt a "pop" in his eye but the supposed best p4p puncher really shouldn't be taking the count against a guy with a 25% ko ratio that he's already hurt.

If Imam beats Postol it sure as Hell becomes a dream fight. At this very moment, I can't see Imam beating TC at all.

What's happening with Danny Garcia these days? Sorry but I'm somewhat out of the loop where he's concerned. Is he fighting at 147lbs now? Has he been beaten? Is he retired? Why aren't people talking about him vs. Postol/Crawford?
