Assuming both get past their big fights (more of an IF with Canelo but GGG's fight is no gimme either) how does this one go down? Let's say Canelo stops Cotto in a war and GGG knocks out Lemieux is a brief but violent knock down drag down brawl which sees both men get dropped, GGG vs. Canelo would be HUGE! I can't see any way Canelo could beat Golovkin. To me it's a stylistic mismatch. I think GGG beats him early, mid, late or by decision. However, Canelo looks to have a solid chin and lots of heart and decent boxing skills, so it's possible that he could take the punishment when it comes, avoid most of it, and if he can hang tough with GGG early you never know what would happen late in the fight. What do y'all think on that potential matchup, IF the two preceding fights go down the way I've described?
Stylistically, a bad fight for Canelo. But we'll see if Triple G beats Lemiux first. I think Lemiux is being overlooked a bit.
I think Canelo is tough enough to hang with GGG for a while but i don't see him having much chance of actually winning.
Golovkin is simply better than Ginger nuts. Ginger nuts would not be able to stand up to GGG's power shots for long.
Not by me. I make GGG a solid favourite and would be shocked if he loses, however, Golovkin's chin hasn't really been tested yet and Lemieux can punch like a son of a bitch and he seems to be supremely confident. GGG should win early, but it's possible that he'll be shaken up/dropped in this one....at the very least.
I think Lemieux's aggressive, brawling style will be his downfall. What would be interesting to see, though, is if Lemieux aims to attack GGG's body and has plenty of success.
